Title: Chance Of A Lifetime.
Fandom: Transformers Armada AU (with Bayverse influences).
Pairing: Starscream/Alexis.
Prompt: 14 - Power.
Word Count: 562.
Rating: G.
Summary: Starscream and Alexis discover the AllSpark.
Spoilers/Warnings: Transformer/Human fluff.
Author's Notes: Chapter 3 in the multi-prompt fanfic that includes prompts 32 (Sunset) and 15 (Ancient). I'm going to fudge size differentials between the Transformers and the kids here and make them a little more realistic.
The solitude that the caverns beneath the base gave Starscream and Alexis was potent enough to make them both forget that there was a war going on above. They were just sitting there next to a vast underground lake, watching the surface glow from bioluminescent properties beneath the surface. Alexis was curled up on his shoulder and against his neck, feeling the peaceful wonderment at actually being this close to an ex-Decepticon who, weeks previously, had been nearly Hell-bent on destroying everyone. She didn't know what the boys had been asking Optimus about the AllSpark or that they were willing to help her with the one thing she had been wanting strongly since Starscream joined their ranks in the Autobots, but in the weeks to follow they all would be tested by Megatron to see how well they could fight and cooperate together.
Starscream rested a hand over Alexis, being as gentle as possible as he felt his Spark skip pulses again. Everytime he was with her, it seemed like there was something more to it than just friendship. His Spark would skip pulses, the air through his systems would slightly speed up or become disorganized and he would feel a strange nervousness he couldn't explain. By all intents and purposes he wouldn't even be feeling this way if he hadn't been getting to know her more, he shouldn't even have been allowed to share this moment with her. He was still someone, as he thought it to be true, that the Autobots couldn't trust. But Alexis found it in her heart to trust him without question. He had known nothing but darkness, deceit and cruelty for millions of years, and yet she was showing him kindness, light and understanding. It didn't help that he still wanted to destroy Megatron for what he had done to Starscream. The Seeker felt it was only fitting that he should be the one to pull the proverbial trigger when the time came to destroy the Decepticon leader.
Beneath his hand, Alexis felt safe as she smiled and nuzzled into his neck. She could feel the electrical energy just beneath the plating when something in the water caught her eye. It was the way light had been shining from the depths that diverted her attention. Looking closer, she could see a crystalline cube somewhere near the shallow end closest to she and Starscream. It looked like a jewel that belonged in a necklace or on display somewhere and seemed to have intricate designs carved into all sides. It seemed like Starscream saw it too, the Seeker set her down on the cool ground below and wordlessly went into the water to retrieve the item. Once he was out of the water with it, the light it gave off intensified and lit up the cave like a miniature sun.
"Amazing." Alexis said as she came closer to the cube and had to shield her eyes from the intense light it gave off. The cube seemed to be made of such a pure crystal that it was transparent except for the carvings in its sides. Without warning a light pierced her and enveloped her, changing her form and size. Once the light faded, Starscream rushed to Alexis' side and held her close. She onlined her optics and discovered that the light had changed her into a Transformer. "Wow..."
