The world's so big,
It can break your heart.
And you just want to help,
But you don't know where to start.
So you close your eyes,
And send up a prayer into the dark.
The sound of running water nearby gave Ironhide and William Lennox an idea of where they were going as they made their way through the densely forrested area of Alaska they were in. It was Summer but the humidity had kept them hampered with mosquitoes and gnats until they came across a marking in a tree neither of them recognized. The marking didn't look like it came from any animal, human or Cybertronian, even though it looked like something clawed the mark into the tree.
"What d'you s'pose made this mark, Will?" Ironhide said as he scanned it into his memory banks. "Don't look like anything I've ever seen."
A growling sound came out of the brush near them as the leaves began shaking. Birds flew out of the bushes as small animals ran away from the source of the sound. Will cocked his gun and aimed at the shaking bushes with his sights on whatever would emerge.
"I don't know, Ironhide. But I'm betting we're about to find out." The major said.
Just as he said those words, a wolf with black fur came out of the bushes. A white crescent mark was on its face over the left brow with the tips curving in to the eye. Intelligent golden eyes stared up at both the mech and human as if trying to size them up for a fight.
"It's just a wolf. Ironhide, don't move or you'll scare it away." Lennox said as he dropped his gun to the ground beside him.
"Not just a wolf, human." A growling voice said. "Don't underestimate me."
Without warning, the wolf drew up onto its hindlegs and transformed into a Werewolf. Even though it was a Werewolf, it didn't even reach William's height. It seemed to be an adolescent and didn't even scare the human.
"It's a Werewolf? Didn't know they really existed." Ironhide said as he knelt down to get a better look.
"Yeah, I thought they were myths too. Just something Hollywood made up to scare kids with." Will said as he reached a hand out to the lycanthrope.
The Werewolf backed its ears as a snarl curled its lips before batting away his hand with a very handlike paw. It became very aparent that this creature wasn't afraid of them, but it wasn't leaving them alone. Ironhide almost had half the processors to leave the cub behind and continue their search for the Decepticon that dragged them into the wilderness.
"C'mon, Will. Let's git back on track of searchin' fer that Decepticon punk." Ironhide grumbled.
"Decepticon?" The Werewolf said as its ears perked up. "You mean that robot who came through here?"
"You saw it?" Lennox asked. "You saw where it went?"
"My name is Mystic Howl, follow me. I'll take you to its hiding place." The lycanthrope said.
