AMber Ray In April, NYC, Leeds UK and Stockholm, Sweden!

Sweethearts!

*THE NEWS*

Sorry I have left you in the Fog for the last month! I've been home from Australia to NYC Just over a week and I'm still adjusting to the pace.
March was fantastic!
I had an amazing trip in Australia! The tour of the Burlesque Ball was sold out in ALL three cities and the Crowds of people dressed to the burlesque nines was astounding. Congratulations to Jac Bowie & John Wright for putting on such an amazing event and also for Letting me Preen and Coo to the Aussie Public. It was a Dream come true and a fabulous affair! The performers were all divine in spirit and on stage!
Pics of the Ball can be seen shortly on www.Burlesqueball.com
In the near future, I will also write a blog on live journal and Myspace with a play by play of the Trip.
I'd Also like to thank Cristal Burlesque in Melbourne and Wicked Women & Dr. Sketchy's in Sydney for giving me the stage as well!

I am honored to be included by one of the finest Burlesque Blogs out there!
The lady with the gift of Gab, Holli-Mae from 21st Century Pin Ups has interviewed me for her Blog on my Australian Tour.

April Showers me with travel Plans as I take off to Leeds England, and Stockholm, Sweden late in the Month! I'm so excited to go to Leeds where I will shoot with the very talented and charismatic Neil Kendall (http://www.myspace.com/burlesqueph… & www.neilkendallphotography.co.uk) for his Project and perform in Strip-O-Rama along side such international and national delights such as Kitten Deville, Fancy Chance, Trixie Malicious and And Fur Laxis!
On May Day I will be popping over to Stockholm Sweden to Get Black & White with the Hootchy Kootchy Klubb on May 2nd for their Anniversary Show!

I've been starting to work more and more @ Duane Park. It's this fabulous and beautiful Restaurant down town where you can get dinner and a live Jazz show with the Brian Newman Trio and guests. Brian is a severely talented musician and has me singing with him and the band and doing numbers a couple nights a month, Please do come down, have a date and eat fabulous food while you watch the show.

Last week I once again did Foreign Affairs @ The Night Hotel in Times Square and this time I was a guest with Joey Arias!
Talk about a dream come true? Isengart and Lady Rizo host this Lee Chappel production every monday!
Go see the show, its Spectacular!

ONE MORE VIA Juxtapoz Magazine! YAY MOLLY CRABAPPLE!

http://www.juxtapoz.com/

Dr. Sketchy's x Ron English on Valentine's Day
Current
Monday, 02 February 2009
Cupid won’t be the only guy to watch out for on February 14th, as Ron English will make a rare appearance at Dr. Sketchy's at The Slipper Room in New York City on Valentine’s Day.
Dr. Sketchy's, the life-drawing cabaret art school, will pay tribute to the legendary street artist Ron English as burlesque queen Amber Ray will pose as Ron's most famous paintings in a Popaganda-inspired set.
If you’re not in the know, at a Dr. Sketchy's class, artists draw glamorous, scantily constumed underground performers, compete in contests, and win booze and prizes in sessions hosted by artist Molly Crabapple. It’s all really quite fun.
Ron English will be in attendance signing books for this special session of Dr. Sketchy's next weekend, so book your spot early, as this session is sure to sell out!

"Denizens of the demimonde gathered this evening to raise a glass and toast the return of Foreign Affairs, hosted by the fabulous Lady Rizo and Isengart, at Night Hotel near Bryant Park. Seen in the crowd: Joey Arias and (out of drag) Flotilla Debarge. On NYC’s tiniest stage: Sherry Vine, Amber Ray and the glamorous hosts themselves."

To Which afterwards....
Mr. Joey Arias came up to me jumping up and down and hugging me stating how much he loved my show and how I will be performing in his coming show...
Not only is it a dream to perform with the people who i was able to perform with tonight..but to have Joey Personally come up to me with such excitement and vigor for my voice and my dominatrix like performance?
Ok this is all getting to be WAY TOO MUCH!
WOW!
Im so freakin' excited...
I cant believe i am leaving for a month...
I guess you have to keep them wanting more??!!!

Her chameleonic qualities measure vast differences and are sure to startle with grace, confrontation and fantastical flamboyance. She embodies the dream of other mythical worlds, reavealing her stature as a provocative exotic creature.

You will find her most often musing the masses through various stage productions, art installations, sitting for severely talented painters, photograpers and designers as well as dazzling at High end events to which she ardently shares her love of style, luster, and her brand of spiritual artistic expression of the whimsical and the real. The Boogie Man: Lee Atwater Story on PBS

In a February 1991 article for Life Magazine, Atwater wrote:
"My illness helped me to see that what was missing in society is what was missing in me: a little heart, a lot of brotherhood. The '80s were about acquiring — acquiring wealth, power, prestige. I know. I acquired more wealth, power, and prestige than most. But you can acquire all you want and still feel empty. What power wouldn't I trade for a little more time with my family? What price wouldn't I pay for an evening with friends? It took a deadly illness to put me eye to eye with that truth, but it is a truth that the country, caught up in its ruthless ambitions and moral decay, can learn on my dime. I don't know who will lead us through the '90s, but they must be made to speak to this spiritual vacuum at the heart of American society, this tumor of the soul."
