Bitter Grace

Dear Governor Polis,

I am shocked and disappointed that you intend to veto HB-1124, and in particular that you object to a provision to bar law enforcement and prison facility cooperation with ICE personnel who come without warrants.

I gather that your libertarian principles are involved-- but you seem unconcerned with the constriction of the choices and rights of suspected undocumented immigrants. I am led to concern about whose choices you care about more widely, an I am also concerned about the lives of those who have come to the United States for safety or for better economic opportunities.

Please reconsider.
