(no subject)
hi there everyone =) I'm looking for help for my friend, a Nepalese international student in the US.
he is a full time student trying to find a loan for around $5000 but since he is not a US citizen or permanent resident, and he has no co-signer, it's really hard. I have searched for a long time and I honestly have no idea what to tell him. it's so frustrating, he's working really hard and deserves a break, (he was an RA in a dorm that had 3 residents die...talk about a tough year.)
I thought maybe other international students could suggest a place for him to look for a loan. I can't find any federal programs or private loans that don't require residency or co-signer...and I don't want him to get stuck with a high-interest loan either. he is an accounting major and an honors student with a high GPA. He is also a Hindu, if anyone knows of any Hindu organizations that do scholarships...dunno if BAPS, for example, has any programs like that, or if there are any other organizations active in the US which might be able to help.
thanks!
