When I was younger (say, between the ages of 13 to 17), my musical tastes were more inclined towards two absolutely opposites: Linkin Park (yes, yes) on one side of the scale, and vocal Happy Hardcore on the other. Essentially, emo screams vs. candyraver techno, with Barenaked Ladies somewhere in the middle. Keeping in mind that I was just some mousy little shy kid listening to both of these, I can't say either of them had a huge effect on me outside of being a pacifier for stress. I'm not necessarily sure my tastes have really matured, since I don't listen to a lot of music, but I've never said no to listening to a new kind of song, style, or otherwise.
However, there's some things that I really, really like. For example, what do you know about
chiptunes? I have a deep and unabiding love for them, thanks mostly in part to
deafeuphoria, my good friend and audiophile pal (himself a chiptuner and mixer, having recently released the smash mix
dongster bliplove).
Instead of just linking to one song (that would be impossible!), I'd instead like to link you to
