Happy Elriel month everyone! We are finally getting more Elain and Az content this year 🥹 I'm anticipating a lot of yearning and angst between these two in book 6 so I wanted this commission to capture that feeling. In this piece, Elain and Az can't help but reach for each other as they pass in a corridor. Between their charged glances, words left unspoken, and brushing of hands - they are the ultimate yearners and I'm so excited to see where their story goes 💙🩷

Some of y’all are really out here thinking that “3 brothers with 3 sisters is ‘lazy writing’ or ‘cheesy’”. Meanwhile, you have no problem with the same author feeding you:
- A human woman being held captive by a handsome, male Fae in a magical realm in the hopes that she will break his curse ✅
- Fated mates ✅
- “To the stars who listen … and the dreams that are answered” ✅
- Sleepovers in a magical house with “bubble baths” and an imaginary, miniature Pegasus✅
- “Through love, all is possible” and “light it up” ✅
- Sexy male mermaids ✅
- Intergalactic orgasm ✅
- A magic bean solving translation woes ✅
- A wolf shifter with a single brain cell suddenly becoming the pack alpha ✅
- “To whatever end” ✅
- Moonbeam ✅
This just scratches the surface of the corny cheese. Now you’re telling me that ALL of THAT is acceptable, but when SJM uses a TRIED AND TRUE WRITING TECHNIQUE and writes a storyline based on an actual Russian fairytale about KOSCHEI THE DEATHLESS, involving THREE SISTERS married to THREE WIZARDS and suddenly y’all ‘just can’t’. 🧐🤔
btw if azriel had truly "moved on" from elain, he wouldn't have been stone-faced in training the literal next day.
in fact, he probably would have reacted in part to seeing gwyn again. maybe a ghost of a smile or some kind of encouragement.
but that's not at all what SJM wrote, is it?
if azriel had truly moved on as so many like to claim, he probably would have given back the ear plugs elain had gifted him, but he didn't.
azriel still wants elain, and nobody else. that's that.
This is purely my opinion and I don’t need any convincing further that the BC part with Gwyn and Azriel was a red herring or Lightsinger shenanigans but…
After that super charged Elriel scene SJM wrote I find it…odd? Too on the nose? Distasteful? That SJM would be hinting at a possible romance between Gwyn and Azriel.
I feel the parallels, the wording, the repeat of secret lovely beauty is supposed to make us question why Azriel is acting that way…
Specially since what we know of his character, he doesn’t just hop from woman to woman like that or let his feelings go easily…
Idk, I just think if it WAS hinting towards a romance: lame, very lame. I do not like how this paints Azriel. Gwyn would deserve way way better.
Antis like to say Azriel gives them the ick cause of the Elain portion but honestly, the second half would turn me off Azriel completely if it showed it was nothing more than him just being a fickle, horny, regifting loser.
Elain looked up at Azriel, their eyes meeting, his hand still lingering on the hilt of the blade. I saw the painting in my mind: the lovely fawn, blooming spring vibrant behind her. Standing before Death, shadows and terrors lurking over his shoulder. Light and dark, the space between their bodies a blend of the two. The only bridge of connection … that knife.
SARAH WHAT THE EFF ARE WE DOING NOW? We’re going into a new year (5 new years to be exact) and we still don’t have a book announcement, a book title, the main character, nothing. I wish I could just drop this fandom but I won’t get any peace until I know the elriel book is confirmed and released.

I find it so crazy when Gwynriels/Eluciens say we only ship Elain w/ Azriel for some bull reason.
It's always:
- We hate Gwyn (we don't)
- We hate Lucien (we dont)
- We don't have reading comprehension (sorry, guess my reading brain is still buffering)
- We don't understand trauma therefore we hate Gwyn because she "threatens our ship" (when a HUGE amount of us do and this has nothing to do with it)
I'm pro Elain first always
Elain wants Azriel, Azriel wants Elain. So I want that storyline.
