Timothy Leary LIVES
On May 31st 1996 the Dr Timothy Leary, mad genius incarnation of the trickster god and ultragenuine human, left this world with his head still attached all the way to the end. Even now still considered with skepticism by many but still so prolific as to be incomparable,by the end of his life, his real message was no longer 'turn on, tune in, drop out', but rather 'think for yourself, question authority, learn how to operate your own brain.'
Now in these few days of the 10th aniversary of his passage, his light and spirit and good humor have suddenly barnstormed my consciousness, and of all the beings living and dead in the psychosphere of my soul, I think it is in fact he who may have just saved me from deep despair driven self destruction. Having always admired the man and myth yet never seriously studied him, never raked the Net for his legacy and wealth of knowledge, a deluge of his wisdom today unfolds all around for me.
Im actually surprised at the weird lack of commemoration by even his closest living allies incl. RAW.But in his pronoaic spirit, let us not tarry on egoic politicing and celebrate the man for the great light he truly was.I suspect more of us still walking this vale of tears will feel his presence with us this year.
In these times of dark political and spiritual turmoil, when so many visionaries and mavericks of the old guard continue to pass away, more than ever we need the infectious goodwill, optimistic vision and kung-fu full contact psychophilosophy of Dr Timothy Leary.
So enjoy some of this humble smattering of data Ive discovered about the man the myth and his work today, which I will update as the night progresses, and please feel free to share your own links and thoughts as well.

Temporal æon
This means the same thing as the word eon: an eternal frame of time, eternity.Quantitatively, eon refers to a period of time of 1,000,000,000 years. However, geologists refer to the period in which animals evolved into abundance as the Phanerozoic Eon, which only lasts 545 million years, to the present day.
Platonic æons
The word æon was used by Plato to denote the eternal world of ideas, which he conceived was "behind" the perceived world, as demonstrated in his famous cave-allegory.
Gnostic æons
In many Gnostic systems, the various emanations of the God, who is also known by such names as the One, the Monad, Aiwn teleos (The Perfect Æon), Bythos, Proarkh (Before the Beginning), H'Arkh (The Beginning), are called æons. This first being is also an æon and has an inner being within itself, known as Ennoea (Thought), Charis (Grace), or Sige (Silence). The split perfect being conceives the second æon, Nus (Mind), within itself. Along with the male Nus comes the female æon Veritas (Truth).
The æons often came in male/female pairs called syzygies, and were frequently numerous (20-30). Two of the most commonly listed æons were Jesus and Sophia. The æons constitute the pleroma, the "region of light". The lowest regions of the pleroma are closest to the darkness; that is, the physical world.
When an æon named Sophia emanates without her partner æon, the result is the Demiurge (or Ialdaboth), a creature that should never have come into existence. This creature does not belong to the pleroma, and the One emanates two savior æons, Christ and the Holy Spirit to save man from the Demiurge. Christ then took the form of the man, Jesus, in order to be able to teach man how to achieve gnosis; that is, return to the pleroma.

Because time is of the mind, the standard of measure that you use to measure your time is actually going to create an unconscious program in you that will totally affect your entire attitude, function and the way you think. Ultimately, it affects the way the whole society functions.
