New Sewing stuff!!!
I am so excited that I got some new sewing stuff! :D I finally have a cutting board and blade for fabric... :DDD

Kay, so I started sewing a few months ago when a sewing class was available from someone at church for free. Of course I went, and I had a hand me down sewing machine from my mom, so I was able to sew there, but I got annoyed by it and quit. Whilst I was at my grandmother's house, I happened to be exploring Gaia online and found a thread about lolita.
I'd already been interested in it before, and I was really excited when I found the EGL comm here on livejournal. I was already in love with 50's style stuff, so the frills and poofy skirts weren't a turn off... Quite the opposite. I began asking around for fabric... I had some netting at home for a petticoat pattern I had found (A WIP currently, delayed by lack of thread) and asked if my grandmother had any fabric I could use. She happened to have some cupcake fabric that I instantly took a liking to, and I used it to make a skirt.
It snowballed from there, and now that I'm back from Washington, I am super happy to have a cutting board and wheel again. I used my grandma's when I was there, but my mom's old one went missing a few years back, so cutting fabric was painful for me to the point of me avoiding it. Now that I have one, I'm happy. :333

Something, though, I find awesome, is that I got a $30 board for $15, because it was mislabeled. :D YAY!!! So, now I have a blouse pattern that looks promisingly loliable, a new cutting board and rotary wheel, some different fabrics, and some elastic to finish a pair of bloomers. XD Finally!
Although, since it was a deal that I get a certain amount of fabric per amount of driving I did to work for my license... I exceeded that, and I won't get anything else for clocking hours behind the wheel. Not that I can complain. I feel amazing lucky! I'll post pictures once my comp cooperates, or I finish my petticoats.
Edit: Pics up! :D
