WAR OF THE NOSE

IT'S SUNNY OUTSIDE WITH THE SUNS' GENTLE RAYS LAYING DOWN ON MY UP TURN FACE. I AM LYING ON MY BED LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW AND HOW I HAVE THIS YEARNING TO BE OUT AND ABOUT. I SEE THE TREES DO A LITTLE DANCE WITH THE WIND AND I FEEL JEALOUS THAT I WONT HAVE THAT SAME OPPORTUNITY. I WILL LOVE TO HAVE THE WIND IN MY HAIR RUNNING THROUGH IT LIKE A LOVERS HANDS, I WILL LOVE TO HAVE IT KISS MY FACE SLIGHTLY. HOWEVER I AM UNABLE TO DO THAT, FOR WHEN I WOKE UP TODAY MY EYE LIDS FELT LIKE A HUNDRED PAGE TEXT BOOK WAS WEIGHING IT DOWN. MY NOSE IS STUFFY AND FEELS LIKE IT HAS BEEN CORKED. MY THROAT FEELS LIKE SANDPAPER EVERY TIME THAT I SWALLOW. I WANT TO GO OUT AND ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL DAY BUT AT LAST I KNOW IT WILL NOT BE THE BEST. SO I LAY HERE IN MY BED, I TURN AROUND UNABLE TO FACE THE SUN ANYMORE AND CLOSE MY EYES LEAVING MY LIDS UNDERNEATH RED. I TRY TO SLEEP AND BEFORE I KNOW IT I AM UNDER it all to familiar depth.

submissions

I'm not being the first to post here, just explaining it like I did in the previous thingamabob
Put your stuff here, prompt or non prompt related.. put something up you might want help with or use it as a brag book.. it should rock, I'm sure I'll fill it with some poetry myself..

prompts

I thought up a prompt earlier while I was making frames... look at something in your dorm/house/apt. that you haven't really looked at in a long time it's actually probably a poster or picture you have on a wall and have since let your eyes take for granted (ironic)... stare at it for a while and either try to see alphanumeric arrangements in the design, or craft a story around the first either abstract or narrative-like thoughts that come to mind... example: I have a Tour Poster for a band from the 80's on my wall, it's sorta a picture of a really bad Through The Looking Glass type experience as if the rabbit hole led to Dante's inferno or something... all I can think of when I look at it though is how claustrophobic cities are sometimes, dunno... but so I'd write something about some guy living in a low rent one BR in LA and his life or maybe just the one evening I choose to visit him... I guess that helps.

Club Mechanics

All right this tag is all gonna be about posting meetings, pizza parties, soccer games, club nights, whatever... I figure having a place we can always check is really helpful, some of us can't really make it to a lot of meetings (cough) but love the idea of setting things up and being part of the club.. I really think at some point we should all storm a ritazza open mic!

OK Systems Normal All Fixed Up!

So I figured out the SNAFU of the Community, for these TAGS I have to explain each one or at least give a nice little entry of public nature so you can view them, I think it'll work then, so I'm gonna be the christened child of this thing... sorry, but My speak n' spell DOES need more exposure anyway, you know it's adorable.. (it really is, it makes the coolest noises now to)
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:
PLEASE those who are going to be regulars here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bookmark those in the very first entry, otherwise there will be no continuity to the entries (one day 20 prompts and some other jazz and then you'd have to really garbage navigate to get to the last submissions etc. etc.) if any livejournal/html wizards are out there sprinkle your dust around here

Cat and Mouse

OK here it goes, first entry trying to only put a framework that can be ripped apart as quickly as it was written, add something to it (chapter, page, sentence, characters whatever) and we'll publish it in 4 years
GeminiEffect

Mouse's hands flew across the keyboard, possessed by some other form, long slender fingers not owned seemingly uncontrolled by thought or will, the words poured out in phosphor, illuminating the dark screen flashing before Mouse's retinas;
X37Ion4Lifetime
the cursor blinked anticipating the next series of words, as if the motion of fingers ignited tiny fuses, all following the same trail, keyboard, screen, eye, infinity. Mouse found this time to be a good one, the music breaching both the early 21st century and the deep into even the dawning of the 20th, a hundred years of information almost always at command, one could hide in at the dawning of the new millennium and never be searched for, so Mouse called it home. The general complaints of those living in the period without any way out didn't understand that being marginalized such as they may be had it's uses too. With no paper trails, the scrutiny of the constabulary was cursory at best in relative to the time Mouse left. Mouse let the fingers do the talking, trying to signify both the complete disorientation of shifting through periods so readily and the adaptations one must go through, one day you were a prisoner, convicted by only your thought "the guilty conscience", the next day no distance in 3d could cage you. For some reason traveling forward (or outward as the physicians finally concluded) was more difficult, for some reason whole centuries were "blocked", the only way anyone could explain it, like the large system Mouse's hands were struggling against, the thoughts swirled around beneath greying hair as Mouse tried to nibble a way through the mainframe.
To Mouse time travel and hacking had a lot in common, both were about traveling in ways that were simultaneously forbidden and all together too tempting to deny...as such Mouse found this perfect home, this perfect mission, and the most interesting means to find out where it all began. The signals were coming from somewhere but seemed to come from nowhere at all.

Am I here? Do I hear someone else listening? Where is everyone else? Technology heed my call, or at least, allow me entry to the great hall of writing mirrors. This is no lie: technology is both liberating...and terrifying. Dear God, I don't even own an IPOD. No but I can shuffle. Honest. I am determined. CR

It's Up and Running, well sorta...

Well here it is, the first entry, man this is super intimidating, so I'm gonna make it super short and as sweet as I can make it ya' dig?
This is the Albany Creative Writing Club blog/community/web thingy-ma-bob (super technical language watchout)
This is here for everybody to post their own writing, post some prompts and all that good stuff... there's a set of "tags" that I put in here that are pretty gosh darn fun cause it makes organizing this stuff really easy
there is :

club mechanics : this is to post basic and not so basic club related activities (pizza, parties, meeting times, places, all that super cool stuff)

submissions: this is where you post something (prompt or non-prompt related) that you wrote that you think is really neat, the cool thing is once it's posted people can comment on individual entries and say "hey I really liked it!" and it's totally anonymous so that's cool.. remember people though, constructive criticism is useful while flaming is just bad form as a person we're all here for a specific reason and it's not to be captain bringdown and the trash talk brigade

suggestions: this is where we can say "hey, it'd be really cool if..." community design ideas, moving this blog elsewhere if it pleases you, whatever.. very cool stuff though...

prompts: so let's say you're walking around the campus and suddenly you're completely convinced the huge tower coming out of the fountain reflecting pool is really an alien spaceship, maybe you want other people to write reflecting pool related fiction, maybe you just read some statement that is wild, post it here and see if it gets some juices flowing for other writers...

never-ending-story-: ok, this one takes a little explainin' but it get's really cool especially if we have a good amount of people comin' and going around here... it's killer neat, one person starts off some story, a paragraph or two, page or 4 whatever, write till you're tired or think you left it at a good jumping point for someone else, sit back, let someone work on the story, see where the characters go... this is REALLY cool once it gets involved because you are constantly surprised where a story can go when it's made open to all writers...

ok that's about as far as this can go for now, but hopefully some people will join up, and some serious writing will happen...

so when you enter something just drop one of these handy dandy tags into the entry thingy and it should work well.. there's clients for updating your own journals/updating in here that makes it not too difficult need any help hit me an email @ angel213@nycap.rr.com

here's the links to each tag so you can read just the sections you want when you want, bookmark 'em:
