contentIn this day and age of material wants and needs and chasing after what we believe will make us happy - be it the gas going back down to $2 a gallon or sucess and wealth, topped with a Dorian-esque boytoy; I'd come across something that makes me truly humble. In the short span of the words and pictures beneath this cut, I was moved to tears by what I read. I've taken this from something 501 forwarded to me and I'm archiving it here for me. Something I'd re-read when I think I need to refocus what is important in life.

melancholyAm not gonna get into much of it since I didn't do much of the con except for the craptastic event that is known as David Hayter's Panel/Autograph session(s). Long boring story behind that but let's just say, it ends badly when the guy came up to our group and offered his hand for an "apology" handshake - no one in our group of 4 took it. We stared at him like he just fell off a turnip truck. I did feel vindicated when Dan called him an A-hole and a douche bag at dinner that night though. :D (I luvs u Dan!)
This has been one of the very FEW less stressful convention I've done and it has a lot to do with Leigh and Puppy (mega saleswomen I tells you), Todd and April. Thank you guys for coming to AX with moi and made it fun! Of course - the pre-con planning of getting a WONDERFUL hotel (I want to go back to this one next yr too!!!) and the rental Sedona was the handiwork of Wendy. :D This con did feel like it was done by everyone else and I just came along for the ride. Well, ok. I did just that.
Seeing Reuben and Dan again's just wonderful post script to the entire weekend.
Thank you girls (and guy!) for keeping me company this past weekend and making me feel good about doing conventions again, after the T-T that was Fanime.

hotGot them from Sakuracon's Eugene since I've gotten out of habit of taking any pictures for years.
It's a first con for Ric (and his wonderful wife who came along to just R&R from the young kids) - and he turned out to be one of the most professional and fun GoHs I had the pleasure of dealing with. For someone who's not terribly familiar with the Resident Evil/Bio Hazard franchise - you wouldn't even notice it, by the way he fan services and handles the fans. I hope to meet him again. A thanks goes out to Puppy and Mark that helped out with some of the sessions/events. And Tiff who fetched him for us. :D

Although we've not talked as often as we should in the recent years, I still remember fondly of the days yonder when we did. Thank you for all the wonderful edu-ma-ka-sion on Yaoi and BL and all that grand stuffs that made what Aestheticism and even Yaoicon what it is today. Have a wonderful wonderful Birthday, lady. Gift shall come soon. For now, have a Hakkai from Angel (my slave/artist friend LOL).
