Some things about this post since getting quite a few notes:
1. If you see this post, highly recommend taking it as an opportunity to set a timer for 15 minutes and switch over to ACTIVITY YOU ENJOY. if after those 15 minutes, you want to go back to scrolling, that's okay!
2. Huge shout out to this popping up in my notifs often, bc I do go back to activity.
3. I think there are times where scrolling is fine. Right now, for example, I'm being connected to a machine for two hours to donate plasma and platelets. Yes this is a brag but it is also a time where scrolling is one of the few things I can do. (Though I will probably also read or watch something on phone lol)

Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.
It's not r*pe, it's rape. It's not su*cide, it's suicide. Not unalive, dead. The backbone needs to be reintroduced en masse because softening the blow of these concepts with advertising language does absolutely nothing but allow people unaffected by them to feel not even a sting of what they can do, prompting inaction.
And it's been proven that on certain websites, you don't even face a repercussion for using the words as they are. People just started censoring themselves because they feared the potential lack of views and likes and followers which is so nasty itself.
I attended an anti-suicide seminar in college. One of the big takeaways from it was that stigmatizing suicide increases the rate of suicide, because people who are feeling suicidal feel like they can't ask for help. Every time I see babytalk garbage like 'unalive', I think of that.
Use the real words. Words have power, and they matter.

it obviously also makes me mad as hell that ppl have been using ai to generate „fanfictions“, but mainly it just makes me so sad.
it’s very clear that these ppl don’t see writing fanfiction as the hobby or act of community it is, but as a market. they are fundamentally misunderstanding one key point that i always appreciated most in fanfiction: it’s anticapitalist. (obviously not ideologically, a lot of really popular fics got turned into commercial novels)
if you treat writing or reading fanfiction competitively, if you treat fanfiction as a commodity and not as a community, you’ve truly become detached from culture.
i don’t want your slop, i want connection and feeling giddy bc my favorite ao3 author followed me back on tumblr and i truly feel bad for the ppl who will never get to experience this bc they are impatient pathetic fucks who’d rather exploit other people’s free labour and our already messed up environment just because they can’t be assed to learn a new skill.

It is so ironic that I am still getting political ads about democrats wanting to “raise taxes and give the money to illegals” while the current administration is asking for unlimited money for their large-scale deportation and immigrant torture facilities. The right is still beating the “democrats are sooooo wasteful and bad with money” while we watch Donald J. Trump spend taxpayer money on everything but resources for taxpayers and spend us further and further into a hole. But they can’t get new material to fear monger with because they are conservatives. It is always ‘trans people are evil’ and ‘democrats are so wasteful’ and never ‘if you vote for us, here is now we will improve your life-’ and it’s gotten to the point where even the most ignorant and hate-filled Republican voters are becoming disillusioned. You would really think they’d start to pivot to more pragmatic talking points after the bombing the last election but they’re too stupid.

being trans is awesome ill be like "hey someone was transphobic to me on reddit" and someone else will be like "then get off reddit" and im like "well theyre also transphobic to me on tumblr" and they're like "well thats because youre on tumblr" and ill say "well people are transphobic on instagram and twitter" and people are like "yeah twitter and instagram are cesspits" and its like. i think you guys are missing the point that trans people should not be forced out of any space due to violent rhetoric and threats about who we are and yet its happening all the time. and yall seem to think thats just how it is and it shouldnt be
one of the reblogged tags has inspired me. yes, this is also about places that aren't accepting to trans people, im thinking of the south specifically. i left the south and moved out west, and we love it here, but we miss the south all the time. i lived my whole life in tennessee and i miss it all the time. i think about it all the time. and people will be like "but evan tennessee is a bad place to be trans" and it is. it is a bad place to be trans. but its my HOME. i grew up there, i lived my whole life until last year there, i have so many memories there. and im happy out here and its def more my speed out here but i would love the option to go back if i ever wanted to. and loads of trans people never leave tennessee or the south in general because its their home. trans people shouldnt be constantly forced and encouraged to move hundreds and thousands of miles away from the places they grew up and love because its unsafe to be trans there, it should simply be safe to be trans there
