Late to the party

So, I finally watched the Gilmore Girls episodes on the Netflix yesterday.  Yes, I procrastinated getting Netflix and procrastinated watching, and then watched them all in one day.  I guess that is one way to spend your birthday!  So, thoughts --

I liked seeing the Gilmore Girls again.  I cannot quite believe I binge-watched it, though.  Whew.  I heard they might do more and I am not 100% sure about that, but I would probably watch.
OMG

Holy Crap!

I may actually have to get with that whole Netflix thing if this comes to pass!!

New Gilmore Girls???  Be still my heart.  But oh no.  If Rory ends up dancing around Logan again I might not be able to watch.  I swear, I haven't even ever been able to like Cary Agos on The Good Wife.  *shudders*

Still here. With a random TV observation

Long time no post.  I'm pretty sure almost no one is still out there, but I had this in my brain and there's reallly no other place to put it.  I was watching the show "Cristela" and I realized that Pelant is playing this intern at the law firm with her and he's all happy and insulated and not a serial killer at all (yet), and all I could think was Pelant.  It just seemed so wrong.  I am sort of expecting a Criminal Minds warp where he goes all workplace violence on Sam McMurray and his dim-witted barbie-doll daughter because it's Pelant!  I know there are other actors who I've seen on shows and not been able to get past a previous role, but I can't put my finger on any right now.  If anyone happens to see this and thinks of one, let me know.  Oh!  That lady who is the voice of Lisa Simpson!  She is always Lisa Simpson to me, whether she's in Herman's Head or anywhere else.  Poor lady.

Thoughts about a few finales

Well, I am still behind on a few shows, but I have caught up with the finales of some others, so Spoilers, ahoy!

I really enjoyed Christina's goodbye on Grey's.

I am not sure how I feel about

Jane and Lisbon on

The Mentalist.

[Spoiler (click to open)]

I guess I didn't really every ship them, so I am not certain how I feel about that.

Now, as for Bones, that ending is just killer (no pun intended).  Definitely a bit set up for next season, but man.  And who else thinks Max is going to be seriously pissed?  I really hope we get to see that.

Well, maybe if I get to some more finales, I will post again sooner rather than later.  Although, I am kind of glad the season is winding up.  I still have way to many episodes on the DVR that need watching.

Christina is leaving

And I get it, but it will be so strange to have no Christina on Grey's.  And this video from ABC just kills me.  Kills me.  *sigh* Mer and Christina, forever!!!

WTF, HIMYM?

What just happened?  Seriously?  There were many times when that show drove me up the wall and there were many times when it was very enjoyable, but the last episode was just weird.  And many kinds of wrong.  (Sidebar:  whose job was it to keep track of the many, many hairstyles over time in that episode?  That was a chore!)  I don't know who exactly CBS or the creators think is going to watch this quasi-spin-off they have going, but why exactly would anyone trust them with another 30 minutes of their lives?  Nope.  I was sceptical to begin with, and now I know I was right to be.  I did really like Cristin Milioti, though.  Her I would watch again.

Nostalgia

So, I read today that Television Without Pity is being put out to pasture.  That makes me somewhat sad.  I mean, I had stopped reading a long time ago (I think around the time of the big buy-out) when the shows they were covering just didn't seem to match up with my viewing any more, but my hubby and I used to read constantly and laugh and laugh.  The saddest thing is the the archives won't be available any more.  There were just so many classic recaps.  And the VM forum is where I first even discovered such a thing as fanfic (Holding the Curve by __tiana__ to be specific was the one that hooked me and sent me spinning off into hours lost at my computer).  And that's where we first "met" Sars and Pamie and Jacob and Heather and Jessica and all the rest.  I'm sure mastermia is mourning with me, if she knows.  Even though we had parted, it was nice to know it was always there.  I had visited recently to find something and there are just good memories.  R.I.P., TWoP.  You gave us a really good time.  And some absolutely great snark.  There will soon be a hole in the fandom universe, I think.

Aww, leave my Wendell alone!

Wendell is my favorite intern.  Why are they messing with him?  Show is killing me about this.  I swear.  He at least needs to make it to the end of the show next season (if the discussions about that hold true).  I will not tolerate less.

I did find it interesting that the backstory for the victim this week is essentially a 20-something version of Searching for Sugarman. Just replace the 20-ish guy with a 70ish guy and put South Africa in for the Philipines, and we are good to go. Not sure if I think the writers are lazy, or just saw the criminal potential beyond simple theft.

Random Grey's complaint

I know it makes for good dramatic tension and all, and I know that Sandra Oh is leaving the show at the end of the season, but this tension between Meredith and Cristina is freaking painful.  I just can't take it.  It feels like a good portion of what has saved some of the previous seasons on this show is their relationship.  They are each other's person, dammit.  Babies or no babies.  You are killing me, Shonda!

It's people!

So, the twist on Soylent Green was suitably disgusting.  But I am excited to see the gymnastics in two weeks.  My sole athletic pursuit always deserves more TV time.

I have at least been keeping current with Bones.  I find I have fallen behind on other shows -- like Revenge and The Good Wife (which, I will admit, I simply deleted several episodes of rather than watch the office politics play out), and stopped watching Modern Family altogether.  I seem to actually, *gasp*, be cutting back on my TV watching.  That's virtually crazy talk.  Giving up a show before it ends is so unlike me.  I inevitably end up watching things to the bitter end (see Private Practice).  Maybe being 40 is different.  Whatever will I do with my non-TV time?  Get the sleep I need so much?  Or maybe just turn it into computer time.  That seems much more like me.
