Cult!

Hi Flisties! Again, long time no post. Last year, I was busy as fuck working on Hollywood North shows, and didn't have time. I'm at a huge slump point, there's very little work in Vancouver right now (tied into this tax credit issue... it's kind of political. I won't get into it), I've managed to woo an ALM on a popular show, so I'm getting a few days here and there with him, but it's not nearly enough. Thank Christ pilot season is coming up soon.

Anyways, all last fall/winter I worked on a CW show called "CULT." It's got some good actors in it, including Alona Tal, and it's premiering tonight, 9/8c. If you can, please watch it. The more views it gets, the more likely it'll get renewed. We made 13 episodes, but if it does well, it may get renewed to 22, which would be really good for me (and the local industry).

I'm not sure how good a show it is, I haven't seen any of the footage, but I was there through a lot of the shooting so I have a general idea. All I will say is, META LOVERS WILL SHIT THEIR PANTS.

So give it a view and let me know your thoughts!

ETA: I found a trailer!

Oh Hey! I've Alive!

So I've been busy working away and dealing with real life things. I haven't been as active on livejournal as a I used to be (not that I've ever been a regular poster or anything), some of this due to my dislike of some of the plot points of season 7. Not that I'll stop watching, but frankly I thought the writers wrote themselves into a corner with Sam's craziness, and then coped out (though I suspected that would happen from the start. It was just too awesome to be maintained). And this has made me bitter.

But anyways.

I've started working on a TV show as an office PA, which is awesome, because I'm trying to get office experience so that I can one day become a Production Manager (and get paid. Wouldn't that be nice?!).

The entire show will be filmed at Riverview, an old psychiatric hospital that's creepy, and been around for, like, 100 years, and is pretty much THE hospital filming location in Vancouver. Every scene you've ever seen Sam and Dean in a hospital, has been in this place. It's like walking through 50% of all the hospital movies you've ever seen.

And it's the most creepiest place you've ever been. There are people in film that swear up an down they've had supernatural encounters in these buildings. It doesn't help that some seriously messed up shit used to happen there, like lobotomies. I'm a little skeptical myself, but I have yet to go down to the basement, which is where it's the worst.

My friend works on Supernatural, and hates shooting at Riverview because the elevator always malfunctions and she gets sent down to the creepy dark basement. I've been kind of avoiding the elevator on this regard.

I'll try to upload some pictures over the next few weeks, show you all the creepiness.

Anyways, that's all for now!

The Post In Which I Promote Shit You Do/Do Not Care About (But I Hope You Will Begin To Care About)

Hello Flisties!

As many of you know, I'm working on a indie feature film in Vancouver right now as Production Coordinator. The film is called PRIMARY, and we're on day 13 of 20 of principle photography. The film stars Dustin Milligan, Michael Eklund, Andrew Francis, and Katharine Isabelle. About 80% of the cast has done guest star roles on Supernatural (this is the part where I make you care).

But aside from that, it' become known as 'the little Canadian film that could.' We've got an article coming out in the The Province on Sunday, and a buzz is beginning to fill the indie air of Vancouver. It's a pretty awesome film and we've just begun to launch our social media department. Please help me by helping Canadian indie film/helping getting it distributed/helping me make money/helping me make my career by telling your friends and spreading the word.

Vancouver film is a small, small world

Okay, so tomorrow is day 1 of principle photography on an indie feature I'm working on called, "PRIMARY." I'm pretty excited, I think the shoot's going to go very well. I'm working as Production Coordinator, which is a huuuuge responsibility, and so far everyone is enjoying my work ethic and willingness to learn. The lack of pay hurts (ah the nature of Canadian indies), but the experience I'm gaining in invaluable.

On to Supernatural related things.... I was away from the office for most of today, and it turns out RUSS HAMILTON, Supernatural's Location Manager, came up to the office while on his location scouting session today. I didn't really get the details, I think he just wanted to see what we were doing/were about and whether our shoot may complicate his (which it probably will considering we're both shooting out on the streets). Anyways, the front door got lettered (a note stating what's being shot and when) and I took a picture but it's too bad a quality to post, so I'll take a new one tomorrow with my camera.

I'm pretty pissed that I missed SPN's LM. Of all the timing!! But, they'll be shooting around the office from the 12th to the 14th I think, so hopefully I'll get some pictures of the set, although I'm going to be pretty busy with my own shoot.

OH~! And one of our main actresses is Katharine Isabelle, aka Ava from Season 2. She's even more cute in real life.

Ugh, I have to be at the office in 6 hours. I need to go to bed.

Anyways. EXCITING TIMES!!

I may be a workaholic

So it's become apparent that I won't have a day off for the next 6 weeks. I'll be working 12 hour days at the film production office, or on set, or frantically working my other job where I actually get paid. So much for getting a gym pass, there'll be no time to exercise. So much for fic writing, I have no time. By the time I get home I barely have time to grocery shop, much less visit friends.

Now, I'm not complaining. I did bring this on myself and I knew this would come. I'm making invaluable contacts and learning a fuckload.

But, fuck. Something big better come out of this.

Plus, my insomnia has reared it's ugly head again.

I need an inspirational poster of a kitty hanging out of a tree for my office wall.

A detailed recount of the last 6 months of my life that you can probably skip over

Hello! *waves madly* I haven't talked to many of you in a very long time, but rest assured, I'm still around, just have been busy/lazy (a combination that sometimes goes strangely well together).

As we get to the end of the year, I thought it appropriate to look back over all the stuff going on in my life and what has changed. However, due to the fact that I actually am lazy, I'm only going to look back for the last 6 months.

The only thing that sucks is I put off about 5 bazillion fics that I planned to write, and January was the month I was going to do it, but now I'm crazy busy again, soooo... faaaaak!

All in all, there were ups and downs to 2011. I started working more seriously in my industry, I lost 30 pounds, but I also had to deal with a lot of social politics and life BS that made me very anxious and depressed. I wonder what 2012 has in store...?

(hopefully not the end of the world, cuz that would just plain suck when I still have so far to go with my career).

To writers who need a reward...

For those of you who are participating in NaNoWriMo (I'm not, but I just happened to stumble upon this and thought it worth sharing) and who have a bit of a problem gettin' 'er done/likes having a reward system, here you go:

For every 100 words, you get a kitten! Who's productivity WOULDN'T go up?! XD
