Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hello, and thank you so much for writing in one of my poor, neglected (okay, that doesn't really apply to Mad Men) fandoms! I'm sure I'll ♥ whatever you come up with. Hopefully you're not feeling too overwhelmed by all the details I provided--I know I went on and on, but I wanted to give you a sense of what I love about the various fandoms I asked for. If you have an idea of your own you're ready to run with, or if one of my suggestions sparked an idea, feel free to disregard this--it's not so much a set of guidelines as a list of things (some of them completely irrational) that delight me to no end.

Psst, watergal!

I don't know what your spoiler policy is (when it comes to BL, mine's "gimme, gimme, gimme"), but there's a tantalizingly incomplete script for an ep of season five up over here.

You can stop giving Alan phobias any time now, Boston Legal.

No, really.

ETA: OMG STILL OUTRAGED. COMMENT SO I CAN CAPSLOCK AT YOU.

It's been...oy, over a month since the reveal, so here we go. For yuletide this year, I wrote:

Bullshit, a Superbad fic for shellies

Parallax, a Boston Legal pinch hit for das_kabinett

Thanks to everyone who left feedback because I was far too lazy to reply to your emails! You're all very kind.

Regarding my poor, neglected character meme (honestly, anyone would think you people had things to do on a Saturday night), the characters were as follows:

1) Shirley Schmidt (BL)
2) Josef Kavalier (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay)
3) Chloe O'Brian (24)
4) McLovin (Superbad)
5) Alan Shore (BL)
6) Ari Gold (Entourage)
7) Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events)
8) Paul Smecker (Boondock Saints...I totally almost wrote Boston Legal)
9) Dexter Morgan (Dexter)
10) Stephen T. Colbert, DFA (The Colbert Report)

That is all. Thank you for playing.

I'm superstoked for the (1.5-hour!) BL premiere tonight. Yes, it's true, most of the time the new characters suck, but conceptually they sound interesting (and I'm in favor of anyone who's capable of rattling Alan's cage).

In the meantime, I've been watching my new season three DVDs on the computer, which means I'm able to use frame-advance to discover ridiculously dorky details. For example, from the Halloween ep:

In IMDB's Daily Poll, "Which of the Outstanding Drama Series nominees is your favorite?", Boston Legal is losing to not only every other nominated series, but also "I don't have a favorite, for I do not really watch television." (Yes, I have reproduced the original phrasing. It's that awesome.)

Amazing.

(In some seriousness, I'm happy it's been nominated and I firmly believe it's better than at least two of the other nominees, but...much as I love BL, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was probably not one of the five best dramas on TV last year. Still. ♥ And anyway, my favorite part of the Emmys is fandom flipping out when its beloved actors/shows fail to win. See: Spader beating Hugh Laurie. Good times.)

My housemate has an impressively loud friend over, which means I'm not good for much besides posting things I've already written. So, on that note...

From now on, I think my fic(lets) should include acknowledgements. I am very much indebted to wikipedia for its article on shotguns. And also mucus (it seemed relevant at the time).

You know what, while we're at it, my cousin used to play this game all the damn time.
