Post-Wedding Pics + Farewell

I'm pretty bogged down with honeymoon stuff (we leave Friday), but I wanted to pop in and say that I'm finally married! After two long years, it's finally over! Bob and I were married June 2 in Montgomery, AL. It was everything I could have ever wanted and a little more.

Our grand total was about $5,000 excluding the honeymoon. We're taking a 8-day cruise through the Caribbean. The honeymoon is about $3400 after you factor in passports, a hotel the night before, gas money, etc. So around $8,500 for the wedding of our dreams is not bad at all, especially considering the fact that two years ago I thought that we were going to end up spending like $30k to get what we wanted.

I highly recommend all of our vendors. They were so amazing throughout everything. I also recommend FromTheSky.com, which is were I got my moissanite solitaire.

I'm glad it's all over now. I didn't really enjoy planning the wedding. It was a headache and a hassle, for the most part. I'm happy to have it behind me and to finally be able to enjoy married life.

Anyway, Good luck to everyone. Hope your weddings are everything you and your FHs want them to be.

Bye!

bridesmaids dresses

my girls have all picked their dresses so i thought i'd show you all! the dresses will all be done in a deep violet purple color. i let each girl pick her dress and as you can see there's a huge difference in personalities going on! i think that with them being all the same color/fabric/length it'll be ok though. i'm a november wedding as well and i've ordered them little black capelets (like the one below) to wear over their dresses for outdoor photos and whatnot. *ignore the 'dress #' on the photos...that's for the seamstress. and also forgive the rough photoshopping...i had to do some adding/altering for some of the girls and i realize it's rough but you get the idea.

Not unbalanced...

Thanks to everyone that supported me in my late night pre-wedding freak out. It was just me being stressed. I counted, and no, the wedding will not be unbalanced. Even though I don't have a lot of family there, I'm making up for it in friends. I'm still sad that my family can't come, but I think my FH and I are going to try to take a trip up to Alaska to visit family over the summer. He wants to meet them, at least.

So, the current crisis is over for the time being. I'm sure I'll have a few more in the 6 weeks that I have left before the wedding. Hopefully not! Thanks for the support though!

Wedding woes

So I had this wedding nightmare a while back where I walked down the aisle and all of my FH's side was full and I had 2 rows filled.

Well, it might come true.

Aside from my parents and my only brother coming, I have one aunt and her son (my cousin) coming. My family in Chile and Bolivia I knew couldn't come. But I figured some of my family from Alaska would come (I'm in WA state) especially since we sent the save the dates 6 months out. (And some of them work for the airline and can get free or really cheap tickets easily, like they always do). Well, with 38 days to go, the date on the RSVP cards had come and gone and I had ONE RSVP card from the 7 families on my dad's side. (It was a "decline" - but with good reason). The others? We had to call (or I had to email cousins that didn't ever call us back) and all of them said no, they can't. A couple had said "oh no, we just got plane tickets..." Did you not ever know that I was getting married? Did you not get the save the date? Their response is sorry....we'll send money. I DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY! I WANT YOU TO SPEND MY SPECIAL DAY WITH ME! It makes me really sad. It makes me feel very unimportant.

It makes me worry a lot that my nightmare might actually come true.

Sorry for the rant. Had to do it somewhere...

Disney Honeymoon Registry

I know there are a few of you out there who are having Disney Honeymoons, and I was so excited to see an e-mail in my inbox the other day telling me that the Disney Honeymoon Registry is now up and running! Looks like you have to have accomodations booked before you can complete your registry wishlist, which I don't have yet, but I'll definitely be bookmarking this and returning to it.

ETA: I figured I'd add my other tip about travelling Disney...Chase's Disney Visa Card gives you 1% rewards in the form of Disney Dollars (to be used in the parks, hotels, cruises, Disney Stores, etc) and with that link you get a free one-day pass to the parks that you can use on its on or use towards upgrading to a multi-day/park hopper pass. No, I don't work for Disney, or Chase. I'm just a Disney nut who looks for all possible ways to make my Disney trips more affordable. :)

2007 Farmer's Almanac

I picked up the 2007 Farmer's Almanac tonight. If you want to know what the weather prediction is for your 2007 wedding, leave me a comment with your date and the region in which you live. I'll comment back with what it says for you.

The regions are:
1. Northeastern States
2. Great Lakes and Midwest
3. Southeastern States
4. North Central States
5. South Central States
6. Northwestern States
7. Southwestern States

If you live on the Eastern seaboard, especially DelMarVa, let me know so I can check both zone 1 and 3 for you.
