You Are The Light Of The World...

I'd say I'm back like I always do, but really, I am probably not back. But here is a post, if anyone is still out there!

I did my advanced course selection for my fourth year today. My ranked choices were:

1. PSYC501 Honours Thesis.

2. PSYC435 Advanced Topics in Abnormal Psychology (Schizophrenia) with Dr. Bowie.

3. PSYC436 Sexuality and Gender with Dr. Chivers.

4. PSYC333 Human Sexuality with Dr. Pukall.

5. PSYC455 Adolescence (I am pretty sure it’s with Dr. Hollenstein, but I’m not certain).

6. PSYC351 Social and Emotional Development with Dr. Hollenstein.

7. PSYC430 The Self

8. PSYC342 Psychology of Social Influence

9. PSYC471 Behavioural Pharmacology

10. PSYC370 Brain and Behaviour II

Yep. Sounds excellent. I only plan on taking 1 seminar, but since there are a lot of good alternatives in there, I may take more. Who knows. We’ll see what I get into and who ends up teaching it.

I’m probably going to be seen as a terrible person for saying this, but I really don’t care about this Kony2012 thing. It’s not that I don’t think it’s bad. I do. It’s not that I don’t support the people who want to change it. I do. But I would much rather focus my energy on helping the people right outside my apartment sitting on the street homeless, possibly addicted to drugs, or suffering from an illness/mental illness. Good for you if you want to spread the message. But really, I just don’t particularly care about it.

No one cared about it before. And this will go on for a few weeks, nothing will probably change, and everyone will go back to not caring. Until someone brings up something else, and they’ll want to seem like a social activist once again. And then they’ll stop caring.

I sound extremely conservative right now. Yeesh.

One more post before bed. I went through and unfriended those people who haven't been on here in ages. It was rather sad, I liked some of the people I had to unfriend! *tear* However, if you are still active, and I just can't tell, please, ask me to add you back!

Well, hello there.

I haven't been on this since first year. I didn't even remember how to use it.

I'm not sure if I am "back" or not, but I figured I'd let you know what's going on in my life (if anyone even still follows me!)
I am now in my third year of university with a major in psychology and a minor in music. I work at Tim Horton's, and volunteer in a social psychology lab. I'm currently in the process of applying for my undergrad thesis. I am applying with 6 profs: Dr. Janet Menard - Anxiety/fear/rats; Dr. Kate Harkness - depression; Dr. Jill Jacobson - dysphoria/causal uncertainty; Dr. Wendy Craig - bullying; Dr. Ronald Holden - suicide; Dr. Meredith Chivers - sexual dysfunction/sexual orientation. It's pretty exciting and terrifying all at the same time! I am a yoga enthusiast, and have a shopping addiction. I still suffer from depression, but my medication has it under control. I live with three other girls and am currently looking for a new place to live. I am addicted to tea & coffee. I regularly watch Jersey Shore, Dexter, Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Modern Family, New Girl, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, and probably a ton of other things too. I have a cat named Trigger and he is my adorable baby boy. I love Nestea, and go through multiple cases of it in a week. I'm a wannabe hipster with a Tumblr account = lovesowithstanding.tumblr.com. I don't really post any text entries, but I reblog a lot of photos, and sometimes post things from flickr. I plan on going to grad school either after my fourth year, or after I take a fifth year - I'm undecided on that as of right now. I ideally want to go into the MA Clinical Psychology program here at Queen's, with the intention of obtaining my PhD and becoming a psychotherapist. Hm. I think that about covers my life.

I think I'll try not to forget about this account - it might help me out to document my life. Plus it's fun and yet another form of procrastination. Well, if any of you are still out there, good evening to you, and talk to you later.

Just thought I'd let you know that I am leaving at nine tonight to go to Queen's tomorrow! It's going to be fun! My cousin will be writing a three hour exam, so I plan on getting lost, and trying to find my way back, which wouldn't surprise me if it took the whole three hours!! LOL. We get to search for music buildings!!

Yeah. I'm pretty excited!
