the 100 Kinkmeme

So, In the last few months I've received tons of asks on Tumblr about a potential new round of the 100 kinkmeme. And I've been on the fence for several months about it. Shall I do a last one to send the fandom into a proper, smutty, goodbye?

The problem here is that I fell out of love with this show a while back. Back in the January 2020 round I wasn't already into it as much as I've been in the previous rounds, I hadn't read a t100 fic in months, because... well, Season 6 really didn't do it for me. I remember watching the finale and saying 'wow. I've really wasted my time with this'. And started to feel nothing but apathy toward the whole thing.

And somehow that made me stop reading fics as well and interacting with the fandom too. I don't know when that happened, because at the time I was strongly believing that no matter the canon I'd never abandon the fandom or the fics because I had so much fun with it. But it happened slowly and over the span of months and when I heard that season 7 started I realized I hadn't thought about that show or the fandom in a long time and I wasn't even curious about what was going to happen. And after that nothing about what I heard about season 7 made me wish I actually watched it. At this point in time I consider myself truly out of the fandom.

So no, I won't be making a last round for the kinkmeme.

But No Fear, There's Already a New Moderator

The same way I received this kinkmeme from witchling back in 2018 I'm giving it away now. There's already a mod who agreed to take the burden/joy/mess that is moderating this event.

I'm passing the accesses of all the related accounts to them in the next days. I deeply trust them to keep the spirit of this event intact, so no worries about that aspect!

They'll make the proper announcement soon, I believe. But I don't know when they are going to organize it. There's always a lot of preparation in these rounds and it's not easy to do it from one day to the other. So, be patient!

Meanwhile the other kinkmeme corsetsandlemons (about classic lit) I've been moderating is still active and I'll keep moderating that. And if someone is curious, I've made a smallish one about The Queen's Gambit I didn't actually publicize outside my circle of friends thequeensgambitkinkmeme

All in all this has been a fantastic experience. We created so many fanworks, in such a chaotic environment. I'm so proud of what we did in the last couple of years.

Moderating a kinkmeme this size taught me a lot about what I'm capable of doing and what I'm INcapable of doing. It gave me so many challenges and so many rewards. And I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

It's been incredibly gratifying. And tiring. A blast. Really.
