Named in 1979 by E. M. Spiridonov and T. N. Chvileva in honor of Dr. Marianna Sergeevna Bezsmertnaya (née Yurkevich) (Мариа́нна Серге́евна Безсме́ртная (урожд. Юркевич)) [1915-1991] and Vladimir Vasilyevich Bezsmertny (Влади́мир Васи́льевич Безсме́ртный) [1912-2002], Russian mineralogists.
