About Quartz-dioriteHide

A dioritic rock with 5-20% quartz and <5% of feldspars being alkali feldspar on the QAPF diagram.
A coarse grained igneous rock composed mostly of sodic plagioclase, with subordinate quartz, Kspar, and mafic minerals. It grades into quartz gabbro with increasing calcium content of plagioclase, tonalite with increasing quartz and diorite with decreasing quartz.
The coarse grained equivalent of dacite.
