Slate is also exposed in the open-pit, irregularly contacting with the dolomite. The dolomite shows varying degrees of Fe enrichment. Coarse-grained dolomites primarily appear as veins, cutting through the fine-grained dolomite. The fine-grained dolomite contains high concentration of magnetite (∼40 vol%) and minor hematite, quartz, biotite, ilmenite, monazite, barite and columbite.
