Contra
Mundum - a Smallville story with a "case" plot - wow, they make
those?
Sarah_T did. It's interesting, fast-paced, and gives me an
almost-dark
Lex I can actually believe in. The romance is low-key but believably
real. Visit her site just because it's called Alien Corn, but once
you
get there, also read Cover Me and With Mercy Round and
Round - sweet, deep, good.
Usually I'm not one to hang out on the dark side, but Antigen, by
debchan, makes me feel good and bad at the same time. On a lighter
note, while you're at
deb's
Smallville site, don't miss Circling, Let it Snow, and my
personal silly-warm-funny favorite, Cake and Pie.
It doesn't seem possible that I would have forgotten to recommend Te's
Smallville fiction, but since I don't see it, let me just hit it for
kicks. Start with The Project, and then be sure you hit
Champagne Wishes. And for something completely different, I got
a
very weird yet good thrill from Whosoever
Loveth and Maketh a Lie - a direct sequel to Basingstoke's "Viceroy"
snippet and part of "Five Things That Aren't True", both of which are
definitely worth your time.
From shalott, read Waiting
for Yes first, because it's cool and chilling and weird and good.
Then, read this to make it Better.
She does it right. First the hurt, then the comfort. :)
Just a few quick ones today:First,
by Jainie, which is short and sweet and adorable;
and Twenty-one,
by Livia, which is fun and warm and sexy and brilliant.

I just like
Jenn's
style. I like the
way she writes Lex, I like the way
she writes Clark, and I love the way she puts those things together. My
basic theory? If Jenn wrote it, you should read it. Here are some of my
favorites: Relativity,
Shift,
and Closer
to Breathing.
Check out the Smallville Slash
Archive while you're there. A few other
names to look up: Nix, Spike, Te, Livia, and shalott.

Untitled
- Lady of Shalott.
Best. Crossover. Ever. It's like ten lines long,
guys, and she was forced to write it by circumstances entirely beyond her
control. Trust me!

Skinned,
by Thamiris. Oh, this was lovely. Mutant pups and cops and robbers and
romance and sex and complexity -- all in one neat, pretty package. I loved
Lex's struggle with himself, I loved how it turned out, there was just,
seriously, nothing about this story I didn't love. How she manages to go
so
deep and still make it such fun is just beyond me.
addendum: Also check out Boxed, by
Thamiris, which I was sure I had rec'd but somehow seem to have not.
Probably I just told so many of my friends to read it that I thought I'd
hit it here, too.
