My laptop and OS:

ThinkPad P14s Gen 4, 32GB Ram, NVIDIA RTX A500 Laptop GPU, 13th Gen Intel i7-1360P (16)
Debian 13, Plasma 6.3.6
Kernel: 6.12.48+deb13-amd64
Wayland
Dolphin (file manager)

So it is whether firefox, onlyoffice or any application, when I try to save, open, choose a file, after 2 or 3 clicks, it crashes and I have to restart the application again. For example, by default let's say it is trying to open or save a file to Downloads folder. But I want /home/user/Documents/AB2/AB3/ location.

It crashes after some clicks, like when I click AB2, it is gone. I don't know how to fix this issue or why it appears. I firstly thought it is because of firefox, for example, then it happened to me in Onlyoffice too.

But Dolphin never crashes, just to clarify.

hm that sounds like a library binary incompatibility on first approach; did you per chance install any Qt components through non-distro methods? If not, let's debug this: What's the "smallest" application that you can use to trigger the problem? (maybe kwrite?) Can you trigger the crash, then check whether coredumpctl lists the crash? • I think I installed Qt components, don't remember exactly what but I did. I couldn't trigger it with kwrite. Commented Oct 22 at 11:33
  • do you roughly remember what you did? Was it just doing things using apt from debian repos, or did you need to add an external package repository, or to build software from source? Commented Oct 22 at 12:38
  • Then find a "smaller" program than the "gigantic" firefox or onlyoffice, make it crash and look for a new entry in coredumpctl, please. Commented Oct 22 at 12:39
