Midnight Suffering is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod created by naiTEA, based on the Suicide Mouse creepypasta.

In this other retelling of the pasta, Mickey was enjoying a successful career as Disney's mascot. But sadly, a fire incident occurred, which took Minnie's life away from him. Now lost in despair, Mickey decides to take his own life, until certain rapper comes to him and decides to talk things out. Needless to say, it doesn't go well.

This mod has examples of:

• Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Much like other Suicide Mouse works, Mickey doesn't have it easy. In this case, the reason he gets depressed and becomes suicidal, along with losing his mind later on, is because of a tragic fire accident that took away the love of his life, Minnie.
• Ambiguous Ending: What happens after completing the story mode remains a mistery, as we're only left to think if Mickey snaps out of his lunacy, if he ends himself, if Boyfriend dies while battling Mickey, or anything else. Same goes for the rest of the songs in the mod.
• Ambiguous Situation: Whether Minnie's burnt soul that Boyfriend sees in "Flame", along with the flames of the event, are hallucinations or not it's not clear.
• Body Horror: Not Mickey, surprisingly, but Minnie, who Boyfriend sees as a grotesque corpse, with her skeletal skull showing, some of her fur and an arm missing, and overall completely burnt by the fire accident.
• Gratuitous Foreign Language: Since the author of the mod is Chinese, there are Chinese subtitles above the English ones during the story mode's intro cutscene.
• Psycho Knife Nut: This is the only version of Suicide Mouse's Mickey (both in mods and generally) to use a knife, which he pulls out after his Sanity Slippage in "Curtain Call".
• Rule of Symbolism: Fire is a predominant element in this mod, in obvious reference to the fire accident that made Mickey suicidal. For instance, besides being present in the intro's cutscene, which is the only thing colored in the entire mod, and midsong in "Flame", where both the Burnt Minnie and Boyfriend get surrounded by it while singing, the notes' arrows are slightly burnt in the front points and the effect they leave when you hit them is that of smoke.
