Vantage is a cooperative open-world board game designed by Jamey Stegmaier and published by
Stonemaier Games, released in 2025. Players take on the role of crewmates who end up dispersed throughout an alien planet.
Vantage provides examples of:
- Abandon Ship: At the start of the game, the spaceship stops working properly, forcing the player characters to enter escape pods.
- Anti-Frustration Features: The Trail & Sail errata update gives many quests the "Trailblaze" action, an expensive Move action that takes you straight to the end destination of the quest, intended to help prevent players from getting lost if they're intent on completing that quest.
- Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each of the six types of actions corresponds to a color: blue for move, purple for look, orange for engage, green for help, yellow for take, and red for overpower.
- Gamebooks: There are a total of nine storybooks, six of them covering a specific type of action.
- Golden Ending: The epic victory is achieved by completing both a mission and a destiny.
- Hit Points: Each player has a time, health, and morale status, which can reach a maximum of 6.
- Involuntary Group Split: Each of the player characters is sent to a random location on the planet.
- Multiple Endings: There are a total of 36 different missions and numerous destinies.
- Numerical Hard: While not the only way to adjust the difficulty, the player stats can be adjusted initially.
- Tabletop Game A.I.: Averted. Unlike most other games published by Stonemaier, a single-player game does not involve an Automa.
