Robert Kirkman (born November 30, 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky) is an American comic book writer.
He is best known for co-creating the Zombie Apocalypse comic series The Walking Dead (which was adapted into a successful TV series that spawned a franchise), Invincible (which got an animated adaptation on Prime Video), Tech Jacket, Outcast and Oblivion Song for Image Comics, in addition to writing Ultimate X-Men (2001), The Irredeemable Ant-Man and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. In July of 2026, he will start a new superhero universe through Image with the comic book Terminal.
He has also collaborated with Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane on the series Haunt. He is one of the five partners of Image Comics, where he has his own imprint, Skybound, and the only one of the five who was not one of its co-founders.
