Although sexual material may be distasteful to many, it is not necessarily obscene, which the Supreme Court defined in 1973 as material that, taken as a whole, lacks artistic merit, depicts certain conduct in a patently offensive manner and violates contemporary community standards. --NY times article

A note on friending: anyone is welcome to friend or unfriend me as they like -- I tend to friend back, but it can take me months to do so. On the off chance that you're interested in friending me b/c of my fiction:

and 2) I feel it only fair to warn you that while I do link to any new fiction w/in my journal, my stories come few and far between.
