2013 Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 1
Jan. 1st, 2013 12:22 amIntroduction * Master Post
Remember that there is no official deadline, so feel free to join in at any time, or go back and do challenges you've missed.
Happy 2013!
This is the challenge that we started with last year and I think it's an excellent one to start with for this year, as well.
Too often, we're our own worst critics. We perceive the flaws in our creative works that no one else notices, the rough parts, the wrong word choice, the color that just not perfect, the pacing or rhythm that just doesn't seem to work. When people compliment our work, we struggle with saying "thank you," because we don't feel like we deserve the respect, the admirmation, the compliment.
We do, though. We deserve that pat on the back, that lovely feedback, that warm fuzzy feeling you get from a job well done. So to that end, your first challenge.
Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Remember that we're using the term fanwork in the broadest sense of the word here - things like episode guides, meta, canon timelines, thematic lists, recs, fandom overviews, picspams, discussion posts, etc totally count.
Check out the comments for all the awesome participants of the challenge!
And just as a reminder: this is a low pressure, fun challenge. If you aren't comfortable doing a particular challenge, then don't. We aren't keeping track of who does what.
