Just finished a week of midterms. Please cheer me up and fill this out if you have time. I still don't know much about some of you other than the fact that we are LJ friends. Be honest and have fun!
"I've already confessed that I love controversy, so I think my parting word would be...keep it up. I mean, obviously we disagree here. I love it when we can air our differences in a civil atmosphere like this with lots of jokes, and I've enjoyed this very much and thank you for coming."
This season is usually almost always the best time in of the year, well, despite the family drama and woes of gift shopping. And you also receive less the older you get. However, people have given me very useful items this year. Emphasis on the VERY, if you catch my drift (loveholique should know exactly what I'm referring to). Anyway, given my dreadful state post-finals, my brother decided to spoil me with Vocal Jazz, more specifically, Ella jazz because she deserves a genre of her own. He got me two music sets: Ella Sings the Duke Ellington Songbook and the Complete Ella and Louis Armstrong Collection.
Didn't mean to brag, but it's the holidays. Hopefully everyone else is having a wonderful time. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Just dropping by quickly to wish everyone a good holiday. I have two parties and some outings to attend over the course of 4 days. The only thing I need right now is, obviously, a break.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY dragonmuse !!! Hope you have a good one. Your present will be sent today, along with two other belated gifts. Again, this proves how much I fail as a friend.
Back from the trip. My welcome is this whole LJ dilemma that's causing many of my friends to leave. I don't have much to say about this overwhelming situation except that it coincides with what I had in mind. Dating back to the winter of 2003, the activation of my account, I had only planned to stay with LJ for four years. For me, LJ was a fandom resource, nothing more or less. Of course, it was here that I met such wonderful people who showed me beauty in the strangest of places, fed me twisted tales of fictitious affairs to satisfy my guilty conscience. It was a different way of growing up, almost surreal, and I don't regret any of it. However, I'm still sticking to my plans. By fall, I will probably leave this journal not to make a stand, but to finally move on with my life. But hey, we still have several months---I want to enjoy the remainder of this time with you (and not think about it).
In other news, I watched The Bourne Ultimatum on Sunday. It's about time someone made a good action series that involves a showy, but twisty plot. I grew up on action movies so this means a big deal to me. Car scenes. Fight scenes. Angsty scenes. All in one package. I'm glad the trilogy ended well :) Basically, go see it if you haven't already done so! You won't be disappointed.
So I went to see Order of the Phoenix yesterday at 7:00 PM. Everyone was giving good reviews about the film and well, I agree with them. What I liked most about this film was how the director kept the angst to a minimum. They excluded many parts that I thought were unnecessary in the book and successfully captured the dark undertones of the story. Though, the overall effect of the prophecy needed a bit more emphasis. Many fans would probably disagree with me, but I thought the OotP made a better movie than book. Of course, this is coming from someone who places the 5th book last on the HP scale...
I just wanted to thank dragonmuse for the cute birthday V-gift! It was actually very appropriate since I didn't get a "real" cake that day. I also received your letter, which made me feel so happy and grateful and loved :)!
Also, thanks mellowglory for dedicating a short sweet birthday entry to me. You are awesome.
