And here's the final 6 blocks for this monster of a quilt. Good news is, tonight I get to start sewing in the sashing. This may ACTUALLY get done before my birthday! XD
I found this on the flash-drive while looking up some old fics. My grandmother made stockings. She made them originally for all her kids, and then her grandkids. She would make one for spouses, and that's when you knew she had accepted you as family. Casey's boyfriend Tyler is the one this stocking is for... Grandma had it partially done when she died, and I couldn't bear to not finish it. As far as Grandma was concerned, Tyler was family too. They've been dating for many years now, have promise rings, and are pretty well 'married' as far as anyone in our family is concerned.
So.... many many moons ago, I made a quilt for my then-girlfriend. Took months to do, was so proud of it, what with each block being something she loved.... and we split two months later. Did I get the quilt back? Oh hell no.
So I decided to do one for me.
It's going to top out at forty-nine 12" blocks, separated by sashing, and then a border. The top will have my name, the bottom my nickname, and the remaining blocks are some of my favorite things.
