Hair Fair 2026 – Totals and Thanks

Hair Fair has now closed for 2026, and we are so grateful to everyone that participated in the event. Giving of their time, and donating each purchase made in their booth to Wigs for Kids. We are also so grateful to Linden Lab, because it was our 20th Anniversary, they donated different things that donated 100% to Wigs for Kids, and they have made a huge impact. Wigs for Kids will get their funds over the next week or so due to cash out limits etc…once all is finalised we will post the information here as we do every year. We also do not know if anyone donated using the portal so the total may increase – wouldn’t that be awesome.

Hair Fair Participants Donations – L$ 2,661,349

Bandanas, Wrap, Hares and Donation Kiosks – L$ 266,794

Hair Fair Exclusive Names – L$ 379,750

Premium Lifetime Auction – L$ 315,000

Premium Plus Lifetime Auction – L$ 1,100,000 – funds for this were paid directly to Wigs for Kids using the Hair Fair Second Life portal link and proof has been provided etc.

Grand Total – L$ 4,722,893

Lots of thanks go to the following.

Hair Fair Participants & their teams:

Not only do they come packing exclusives and gifts, but in the past few years, they have also had the option to bring past releases that also donate. Their generosity – no matter how many styles, accessories, props or poses, or what percentage they donate (minimum is 15%) – it is all appreciated. We often get to interact with the brand owners, but also sometimes with their staff and teams, and it is always such a pleasure, especially with those we have known for many years. We are so grateful to all of the brands that participate in the event. We look forward to seeing all our participants each and every year and look forward to seeing their releases throughout the year, as a community of creators, they are fantastic!

Auction Winners and Name Purchasers:

A big congratulations to the two people that won their Lifetime accounts, those were some epic numbers, and that you made them matter in such a giving way to Wigs for Kids is amazing, they are going to be floored. Also congrats to those that made name changes during the event, it was a great thing to put in for a name change in such a way, and we at Hair Fair appreciate the trust that went into that.

Hair Fair Customers:

You came from all over Second Life and made your Hair and Hair related items purchases mean something more than just being fabulous. It was an absolute pleasure to stop and chat with many of you, and we always appreciate how often we see the same people come back many times during the two weeks event. Showing support for creators that are giving so much of themselves is just doubling down on the love, so thank you all for shopping, and also donating while you did so.

Hair Fair Bloggers:

The bloggers that like to help us promote the event, doing posts that spread the word leading up to and during opening days, we are very happy that that happens. It is amazing work when someone features items at an event, but it is double appreciated when they promote the event itself, and we are lucky to have people that do that.

Promotional Websites:

Big thanks to those teams that create galleries of our regions, and do adblocks during the event so that we get coverage all over the place, we really appreciate that and return in kind the best we can with adboards during the event, so hopefully people discovered these great resources.

Firestorm:

Each year they go above and beyond making sure that everyone that logs into a Firestorm Viewer is made aware that Hair Fair is happening, and for how long and where to find more information. The MOTD – Message of the Day – is such a great resource, no matter what the message, and if you ever run out of time to click through you can hit the content menu top of your screen and open it up. I interact with Firestorm team throughout the whole year at various times, and they are always amazing…special thanks to Pantera who not only handles MOTD but does amazing work for Firestorm as well as recording most LL meetings so that we know what is going on…you can follow her HERE

Bandana Creators:

Each year Residents are given the opportunity to decorate an existing bandana we provide or to create their own, donate it to us and then it is sold during the event with 100% going to wigs for Kids, it is a tradition that is 19 years old, and each year setting them up I am always so proud of the Second Life community and those that sometimes push outside of their own comfort zone to do this and sometimes to share their personal reasons why. Thank you so much for this years and years past.

Mirja Mills and Anya Ohmai :

Anya Ohmai made the base Hair Fair Hare (with the bandana by Mel Vanbeeck) and each year it raises money for Wigs for Kids, with different themes and it has become a beloved collectible to many, which makes us so happy. Mirja Mills also donated a base Hair Wrap that is also textured by the committee and also sells really well each year with 100% going to Wigs for Kids, so we are truly grateful always to both of them for that.

Mel Vanbeeck :

Creator of roads, balloons, bandanas and scripts – and this year a full Auction system…the controller of Sasy’s sanity, and an overall incredible person that is the silent backbone of the event. If it happens at Hair Fair from the committee side, chances are he navigated our way through it, or helped in some way see it to completion.

Linden Lab:

Every year their team goes all out to make sure that we are taken care of. They start that care much earlier in the year than most people realise, and they carry on until the end. This year they came baring gifts in the form of two lifetime accounts and three exclusive last names…we are so appreciative of all the items that they gave to us, especially as all these things are taken care of manually, so a Linden or five, had to do the work in between all their other duties. Big thank you to Derrick Linden, Madori Linden, Wendi Linden, Kit Linden , Whitney Linden and Strawberry Linden and any other Linden I do not know about that helped ♥ Also huge thanks to Philip Linden for making Second Life and events like Hair Fair possible.

Wigs for Kids:

What they have made as a charity is sometimes truly inspiring, each and every year we get to be part of that story, and we are so proud of that. They embrace us as a community that helps them, they promote Second Life through their website and their social media, and even made us our very own portal to donate as Second Life Residents if anyone wanted to donate outside. Every experience we have ever had with Wigs for Kids has been considerate and respectful of what we do here in Second Life, and we appreciate that so much. We hope we make them proud to be part of Second Life in this way.

Thank you truly, from Sasy Scarborough & Mel Vanbeeck

Hair Fair 2026 – Booths and More

As we move into the last days of Hair Fair 2026 and the 20th Anniversary, we wanted to remind all that you still have some days to help us help Wigs for Kids. If you have not been yet, there are so many items at the event that are not only exclusives, so they may be items you have missed at store releases or past events the store has participated in. Purchasing at Hair Fair means that purchase will donate a percentage to Wigs for kids.

The booth builds included windows and the participants were given the option to decorate them, however they wanted, with the suggestion by me, that some history may be fun…or just decor that best represents your brand. Not everyone was able to do so, but I really enjoyed the things people came up with, and I love strolling along and enjoying the whole build inside and out because of it. Big cheer for PBR and glass.

It also gave us a chance to go through our inventories and find some past Hair Fair build pieces and you will also see those around and about the event. Some will have been at those Hair Fairs and some will see the builds and think …wait, is that a sink, what do you mean the booths were hair dye boxes, or based on the idea of a movie set for Edward Scissorhands. These things all happened, one of the best was the Lego style bricks that not only were the booths made of, but people got to essentially build their own booth using the bricks, and some wild and crazy things happened.

There are Hair Fair Hares from the past, getting a chance to hang out with each other, that for me personally is like the history of my meshing, and apparently I tend to create them when I am hungry, or watching some kind of themey tv show…this years Biker Hare was because of a lot of Sons of Anarchy.

I took some pics of the booths, I hope you get a chance to visit the event again, bring friends, log in alts, make new friends, and help us help Wigs for Kids.

Also remember there are Hair Fair Exclusive last names as shown on all the Second Life socials and destination guide. You can only purchase them at Hair Fair which ends up a 100% donation to Wigs for Kids. More information on that HERE and the information on the chance to bid on Lifetime Premium and Lifetime Premium Plus accounts HERE.

Hair Fair 2026 – 20th Anniversary

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Hair Fair. All content sold at the event donates a percentage to Wigs for Kids…this year we let creators have even more opportunities to showcase their talent with exclusives and previous releases. This is an option, so the booths will vary in product numbers. The images below are their Exclusives, each booth has one minimum. There are lots of things going on at the event this year, Exclusive Names options (CLICK HERE FOR INFORMATION) and two Lifetime accounts that will be Auctioned in the 2nd half of the event…keep checking for information.

Bring yourself, your family, your friends and dust of some alts, and enjoy the Hair and Hair related content that abounds at this event…we look forward to seeing you, and thank you in advance for helping us help Wigs for kids ♥ (they appreciate it and have been promoting the whole event for months HERE) . The stores are in the order they appear on the regions. It is one loop, start at one and work your way around following the path. Draw distance can be lowered to the lowest setting and you will still see all on your side of the road. Regions are visibility turned off, so you will see people on map, but not see residents unless on the same region, this helps with lag..but makes for a start when you cross over and walk into someone, so be mindful. If there is no picture with the name of the store, they may have run late or RL may have happened, we hope all is well.

Hair Fair 2026 – Exclusive Last Names

Hair Fair has been given the incredible opportunity to raise even more funds for Wigs for Kids by creating Three Exclusive last names that you can only purchase at Hair Fair 2026. While the name change is not instant it is done in order of filing your ticket, so do that as soon as you purchase.

(look for the board like this near the landing point at the event)

The names are Style, Salon and Strand. These make for some very amusing names, as you do have the option to also change your first name when you purchase a last name. So names like French Salon, or SoMuch Style can be yours… flex that imagination. There are two systems set up at the Hair Fair regions. Read the board, purchase the name you desire from its kiosk (clearly named) and then read the notecard and do the steps that will start the process for you to have your own uniquely limited offer name, and at the same time 100% goes to Wigs for Kids, so if you have ever been considering a name change, this is a golden oppurtunity.
