I am new to QGIS and was having difficulty using the join function. I have very large CSV files that are named unit1, unit2, and so on they have the columns: | date/time | sensor 1 | sensor 2 |. I also have a .kml file that has the points unit1, unit2, and so on. I want to create an animation that shows the change in one of the sensor values over time at the correct point on the map, how could I do this?

I believe that I could do this by adding two new columns with latt / long, but that seems wasteful because they are static values which would need to be in place for a million rows in some cases.

  • You have CSV files named "unit1.csv", "unit2.csv", ... and kml files named "unit1.kml", "unit2.kml", ... ? Or are the points in the kml file named "unit1", "unit2"? Maybe you could add some screenshots of your data. Commented Jun 12 at 6:17
