On a day largely dedicated to qualifying on the track, there were several exceptional performances by Times Area athletes in the field at the District 3 Track and Field Championships on Friday at Shippensburg University.
Gettysburg had Lampeter-Strasburg senior southpaw ace Brady Scranton in trouble in two of the first three innings as the Warriors loaded the bases against the Bucknell University recruit twice, but came up empty both times.
For years, the history books haven’t been kind to the New Oxford varsity baseball team come postseason time. A string of heartbreaking, one-run exits against the district’s elite had become an annual, unwelcome tradition.

Before heading off to Massachusetts for the next round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship, eight senior student-athletes were honored in a Special Commencement ceremony inside the College Union Building Ballroom on Tuesday.
As we move towards the middle of May, the end of the high school sports season is within sight. The regular season is in the books for all sports, wrapping up on Tuesday, and the boys’ tennis and boys’ volleyball postseason is already over for our teams and individuals.

The NCAA has announced the regional hosts for the 2026 NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse tournament and Gettysburg learned that its road to Rochester will run through Medford, Mass., next weekend.

The summer of 2000 was our first visit to the Southwest. Our family of five traveled out and saw amazing views and geology at Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Rainbow Arch, Bryce Canyon, and Zion Canyon. Oh, and Las Vegas. Our kids loved Las Vegas.

Upon first glance at the results from Tuesday evening’s World of Outlaws Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway, you might have sensed the recent domination of the touring outsiders over the PA Posse continued.
The Pennsylvania Posse prevailed in 2025, but the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car drivers came out swinging in 2026.

Gettysburg will travel to Newport News, Va., at Christopher Newport for the 2026 NCAA Division III men’s lacrosse second and third rounds, beginning on Saturday.
Just a few weeks after rain halted play and left a tight game suspended in the bottom of the fifth, Bermudian Springs returned to Biglerville on Monday and wasted no time tightening its grip on a season that keeps gaining momentum.
For three innings on Monday, Bermudian Springs looked stuck in neutral. Biglerville jumped ahead 3–0, the Eagles’ bats were quiet, and the rivalry game felt like it might slip away.
