Does this mean I have to be a grown up now?

So I just got back from  the midnight showing of HP 7 part 2. Don't worry guys I won't spoil ya. This entry is just a reflection on potter and my life and what it was like tonight.

I was like 9 or 10 when I started reading the books, and I was actually 11 when the first movie came out. That's 6th grade, and very young though I didn't feel so young at the time. The first movie I ever got to go to without an adult was HP3. Now I am 22, and I just graduated college. Next year I start grad school. I went as is tradition with my great friend Bert who I have seen the last four films with.  And it was so...idk bizarre. Strange to see so many little kids and adolescents there.

Nice to see them getting into it, though I wish loud kid behind us could have stayed home or kept quiet (and some we doubt are even old enough to read the books but whatever). We kind of felt...well old I guess. It was such a surreal thing, and odd to have the films book end and fill the decade of my life between 11 and 22. It was a satisfying viewing but it was also strange to know as we walked out that this would be the last one. Also probably our last experience of a midnight showing because as Bert so eloquently put it; what other movie would we possibly be so interested in seeing the minute it came out? I can't think of anything. Besides, I guess now we're such old fogies that we'd have no being business there anyhow...hehe

But honestly, it feels like a little bit of my childhood is ending and now I have to go out in the big wide world and be an adult. I find this to both terrifying and exhilarating.

Anyway so long potter film franchise...thanks for growing up with me!

London Abroad Summer!

So on one fabulous day in London I was lucky enough to see: Harry Potter 7 Epilogue filming, and the stars of Sex in the City at the London Premiere!! (I was SUPER excited the whole day, and this was like my only salvagable footage)

We also got interviewed by this LBC radio guy, but we thought he was the BBC for a while which was funny!

Epic!

I get asked a lot what my "conn8d" name means. It is the make and model of te french horn I play.  This response usually makes people laugh. But I really love the french horn! And this video is so epic! And it makes me really remember why I love horn so much. And this is cool because one guy recorded 12 parts (he arranged it, played it in tune, and in time) and it is a really beautiful reminder of how much music can add to great story telling!

Bonus:
For anybody still reading A Capella "John Williams is the Man"
