Traditional Chinese
Traditional Chinese cards are Chinese cards printed with the Traditional set of Han characters. They were manufactured by Konami of Hong Kong, and were officially distributed in Asia from 2014, introduced in the Duel Starter Deck,[1] to March 2016, retired after Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy. This is the first printed language in which there is no form of text about the Attributes. Traditional Chinese cards are tournament-legal in Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand, alongside Japanese and Asian-English cards.[2] Their ID is TC.
Before 2014, the Japanese OCG distributed a small number of Traditional Chinese "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and "Dark Magician" promotional cards in the early 2000s (in e Jump lottery prize card, Structure Deck: Kaiba, and "Dark Magician" Giveaway for 1000 People!). These cards used different fonts and translated texts compared to the proper Traditional Chinese prints that came much later.
When the Traditional Chinese print was announced, a list of planned products was also released: Structure Deck: The Blue-Eyed Dragon's Thundering Descent in April, Gold Series 2014 in May, Duelist Edition Volume 1 in June, Duelist Edition Volume 2 in July, Duelist Edition Volume 3 in October, and Beginner's Edition 2 (2011) in December.[1] Of these, only the first two sets were actually released.
