Grand Championship (arc)

Story 7: Grand Championship, known as Story 7: KC Grand Prix (Storyストーリーケイシーグランプリ Sutōrī Nana: Kei Shī Guran Puri) in the Japanese version, is a story arc in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.

It constitutes the first portion of the final season while the final nine chapters of the manga are being released (after the defeat of Zorc Necrophades). It is followed by Pharaoh's Memories, the anime equivalent of King's Memories. The English dub initially followed this chronology, but reruns are followed by Capsule Monsters.

In this story, Kaiba Corporation hosts the Grand Championship tournament, where the winner gets a chance to face Yugi Muto for the Duel Monsters World Champion title.

Rebecca Hawkins and Vivian Wong engage in their KC Grand Prix Duel. Meanwhile, Seto Kaiba continues to search for the hacker, whom he begins to suspect may be one of the competitors in the tournament. Zigfried is ambushed by Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor, and decides to face them both at the same time in a Duel.

Rebecca Hawkins and Leon Wilson continue their Grand Championship Semi-Final Duel. Meanwhile, Vivian Wong enlists the help of Yugi's grandfather in order to challenge Yami Yugi to a non-competition Duel. If Yugi wins, Vivian will heal Yugi's grandfather's back. If Vivian wins, Yugi must become her "love slave" (go on a date with her in the dub).

Leon activates "Golden Castle of Stromberg", which unbeknownst to him was reprogrammed by his brother Zigfried with a virus that infects Kaiba's computer databases. In order to save Kaiba's company, Yami must find a way to destroy the seemingly indestructible card and win the Duel.
