Denver, LA and Twilight!

I'm finally getting around to writing about my 2-week trip to Denver and LA.

Photobucket

November 14th-18th - Hung around Denver. Alicia was finishing her up with her school stuff, so we didn't do a whole lot. The Avs were on their Canada roadtrip, so we didn't get the chance to see them.

November 18th 10:30 PM: Got to LA, Betty picked us up from LAX, went to our hotel and went to bed.

November 19th: Woke up early in the morning and went to Anaheim. Sat around forever to try to catch the Washington Capitals after their morning skate at the Pond. Biggest assholes in the league. BY FAR. I've never had such a bad experience with an NHL team. ONE player came over after practice, and it was only because these two girls were speaking to him in Czech. I got his autograph but he left before signing for my sister.

We went to their hotel (which, I'm sure, seems freakishly weird to you people but it's actually pretty normal for autograph seekers) and scoped it out. We went inside to look around decided we might as well stay for lunch. While we were waiting for our friend, two extremely rude workers came up to us questioning why we were there, if we knew someone staying there, etc. etc. so we changed our minds and left. lol @ we saw Jose Theodore in the lobby though. He just kind of looked at us and I laughed.

We decided to go back to the hotel to try to catch them before the game. The manager came up to us outside and was like "I can't believe you lied to me!" I was like, "Um... WHAT?" and he said we lied about wanting to stay for lunch, so I put him in his place and told him we WERE going to stay, until his employees were so rude to us. Hahaha. Anyway, there were 3 girls (my sister, Betty and I) and some random guy waiting outside for autographs. FOUR FUCKING PEOPLE. Alexander Ovechkin was the first guy to come out and he just looked at us, shook his head (it was SO SMUG), and went on the bus. What the fuck. I honestly couldn't believe what I had just seen and I so desperately wish I hadn't seen him do that. My total opinion of him has changed, and it's really too bad considering he was my favorite player in the East. I was so disappointed and seriously heartbroken. I literally sobbed after it happened. It was so upsetting. Ugh =[ Anyway. The rest of the team are just as big of assholes anyway. Not a single player stopped! For 4 freaking people! That is seriously unheard of and is a disgrace. ONE guy stopped, but it was because he had to walk across the street to get Starbucks. I'm seriously embarrassed at how that team treated fans, and I couldn't care less about them now. Biggest assholes ever. UGH. Oh well though. I flipped the bus off as they left, which I'm positive they saw, which made me feel a litter bit better =]

After that whole experience, the last thing we wanted to do was go see the Capitals play the Ducks. We tried to sell our tickets before the game, but we just couldn't get enough money for them. It was seriously the worst hockey game I've ever been to. I've never been so bored in my life. I still took pictures of Ovy during preskate, because really, I NEVER get that opportunity. Some total slut girl was sitting behind us at the game. We noticed her because she was literally wearing an orange corset to the game. Yeah, she ended up being Alexander Ovechkin's girlfriend. So that was kind of interesting. At least it kept us a little bit entertained, listening to what she said about him. I was kind of impressed she was actually following the game. I almost told her to tell her boyfriend to quit being such an asshole =]

So... Capitals won the game. Booo. Whatever. I didn't care, I was just glad the game was over.

Too bad I dislike Ovy now... I really liked some of the pictures I got of him =[

FUCK YOU OVY!

November 20th: Los Angeles Kings vs. Washington Capitals

I didn't bother taking pictures. For one, because I already took pictures of the stupid Caps the night before, but also because I can only take in my tiny lens at Staples, so it wasn't really worth it. The Kings ended up beating the Caps, which was AWESOME. Totally the underdog team in that matchup. It was pretty hilarious too, because Alexander Ovechkin took a run at Dustin Brown and hit him up high, yet HE went down to the ice and was being a big freaking baby saying that Dustin Brown hit HIM! He was totally turtling, what a wuss. Then he ended up getting a penalty and Dustin Brown scored a goal on it. It was seriously hilarious.

November 21st: Went to the Kings practice. Met Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty (so cute), Patrick O'Sullivan, Raitis Ivanans, Dustin Brown, Kyle Quincey, Erik Ersberg... and I don't remember who else.

TWILIGHT!!!!!!! Definitely an odd experience. Hearing a few hundred of screaming 12 year old girls every time Edward went on the screen. It was SO FUNNY though, because they showed a preview before it started and it was a really creepy/scary movie and all the girls kept screaming and were frightened. It was hilarious. Anyway. Review of the movie! I liked it. I mean, it certainly had its flaws but I still enjoyed it. I loved seeing it in person instead of in my head. I thought Robert Pattinson was great. I don't care about all of the "HE'S NOT BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH TO BE EDWARD" crap. I think he was great. I think Kristen Stewart is a lot like how I pictured Bella, but I think her acting wasn't the best. Charlie was fantastic. I'm supposed to be seeing it again next weekend with some co-workers, so I'm hoping I'll like it even more a 2nd time around.

Oh, and I suppose I should add that I finished New Moon before I went to LA. Did not like it when I was reading it or when I finished. The whole time I was just missing Edward. I bawled my face off a few times. I've also finished Eclipse since then, which I really liked. I think it made me appreciate New Moon a bit more and I probably will enjoy the book more when I decide to re-read it. Eclipse was good though, I think it's tied for first for my favorites, with Twilight. Of course I cried a few times while reading that, too. Sigh! What a big baby I am. I started Breaking Dawn last night... it's pretty... different. Not really what I was expecting. We shall see! Loved the whole beginning of it though. Heheheeeeeeee.

SO ANYWHO!

November 22nd: Went down to Staples for the Avs morning skate. They aren't public, but we waited outside to try to catch them - Joe Sakic especially. Got some autographs and the bus started pulling away with half of the team. We didn't really think anything of it, because it's not uncommon for the bus to come back and pick up the others. But then players started running up the ramp and straight to the bus. WTF I HATE YOU BUS! I wish he had just freaking left aready! But noooooooo he waited a little bit longer and more and more players left. Stupid a-hole. Then Joe Sakic and Ryan Smyth came out last, and I swear if stupid Rifte didn't know hot to whistle, the bus definitely would have left them. We NEVER get to see Joe in Denver, so this was one of the top reasons for going to LA. At least he was nice =[ He was running and said "I'm sorry, the bus is leaving us!" I know he would have stopped if the stupid bus hadn't screwed things up. Sigh =[

At least we got to see Lappy for a split second (he too ran to the bus). He saw us and was like "WHAT ARE YOU GIRLS DOING HERE!?" What a nerd.

Ended up going to the hotel to try to catch Joe. That didn't end up happening, because he ended up not being able to play. UGH. At least we got to see some of the other guys. Got to sit and have a conversation with Lappy for a bit. We told him what jerks the Capitals were and we told him it's all his fault because he's so nice to us and we expect all the other players to be nice too. He jokingly replied, "I set the bar so high!" What a brat. It was great to see him though, especially after all of that. Got to see some of the other guys though. About got in a fight with the Ebay autograph people there. UGH. Then went to the game.

Avs @ Kings: Didn't take very many pictures. Their lighting is weird there so my pictures are always super orange and dark. Ew.

LOOK WHO I SAW AT THE GAME! Photobucket PAT EFFING SAJACK!

Avs won, which was great. Adam Foote got killed though. Zeiler laid a dirty hit and Footer ended up pretty hurt. He was laying face-first on the ice and a stretcher eventually came out. I cried a lot. It was so scary. He eventually got up though. He's still out =[

Got to see Karen, Tim and Patty which was fun. Also officially met Adam! That was the only time I got to see him on the trip though. Karen and Tim went to the Ducks game too, so it was nice being able to see them a few times.

November 23rd: Ended up going to Anaheim because the Avs were supposed to have practice. It must have been canceled because we didn't see them. Thanks a lot, Avs! I don't even remember what we did the rest of the day. Probably not a whole lot.

November 24th: Went back to Anaheim trying to catch the Avs after morning skate. Got to see a few of the guys, which was nice, but again no Joe =[ We later found out he went home for a root canal. Ugh! That information would have been very helpful! The Ducks also had morning skate. Didn't care to meet the team really, but we DID get to see Teemu Selanne! So that was fun =]

November 25th: Last day in LA =[ We had postponed going on a whale watching thing because we wasted so much time waiting around for stupid hockey players. Luckily, we got to go on our last day there!

It was such a neat experience. I'll never get over how extremely massive the ocean is. It goes on forever! I was soooooo glad we got to see some whales, because we went between the migrating seasons. We saw a few fin whales and two blue whales. It was so neat, I was practically crying.

Then we had to go =[ In-N-Out almost made us late! I miss our friend Betty already =[ She's like family.

November 26th - Went to meet the St. Louis Blues in Denver. Really disappointing because ex-Av Dan Hinote was injured so he didn't make the trip =[ We were really looking forward to seeing him. BUT! There's this guy named David Backes who plays for him, and he used to play here in Lincoln and I went to high school with him. We had him sign an old junior picture and he had a few laughs, and one of his teammates made fun of him. He was REALLY nice though, so it was a lot of fun seeing him. The whole team was really nice for that matter. We met David Backes, Manny Legace, Jay McKee, Chris Mason, Jay McClement, Jeff Woywitka, Steve Regier, Mike Weaver, Roman Polak, Steve Wagner and I don't remember who else. Really nice guys though :D

Avs vs. Blues: Went to the game with my cousin and his partner Jerry. It was a boring game, but at least they won. I'm so glad they came with us though!

AVS WON YAY! LAPPY #1 STAR! I've been at every game he has scored in. It's so much fun for us!

November 27th - Thanksgiving! We spent the day over at my cousin's place, which was a lot of fun. I've only gotten close to him over the past year or so, and I'm really glad that we have. He's such a nice guy and I adore Jerry. A classmate of Jerry's came over with her fiance and they were a lot of fun too. We ended up playing a dumb game called "Fact or Crap" and watched Jeff Dunham. Good times!

November 28th - BLACK FRIDAY! I got 15 DVDs and an 8 GB memory card for like $75!!! Freaking awesome deals.

November 29th - Went to meet the Lightning! Practically met the entire team and they were all very nice! We met Paul Ranger, Wes Walz, Ryan Craig, Vaclav Prospal, Gary Roberts, Andrej Meszaros, Rick Tocchet, Olaf Kolzig, Vincent Lecavlier, Martin St. Louis, Evgeny Artyukhin, Adam Hall, Mike Lundin, and Mark Recchi. Ollie was funny. He walked to get coffee, came back and signed, left in a cab for the game, then a few minutes later we saw him walking back up. It was weird! Then he was like "Flat tire." Haha. So he had to walk a few blocks back and catch another cab. It was cute that he joked around with us about it.

Martin St. Louis is my new favorite player in the East. He is the biggest (littlest) sweetheart ever. He totally made my day! First of all, they list him as 5'9" and there's absolutely NO FREAKING WAY. I'm 5'5" and he was literally an inch taller than me. He was Alicia's height. He is SO tiny and cute, I wanted to hold him like a little baby in my arms. He was really nice though. Our main goal for meeting the Lightning was getting St. Louis and Lecavlier to both sign one particular picture - which happens to be one of my favorite hockey pictures EVER. When St. Louis came over to sign it, we told him it's our favorite and how cute it is and he sat and stared at it for a good five seconds... then started cracking up laughing. It was hilarious. He was such a cutie. Then later on I saw him reenacting the picture to a fellow teammate. Here's the picture:

Photobucket

Vinny came out and B-lined straight for the bus, but I yelled "VINNY WILL YOU PLEASE SIGN!" and he immediately stopped and turned around. HEHEEE. Probably because it was a girl asking him, and it's not very usual for girls to go to hotels for autographs, etc. Anyway, he signed my team picture that I had everyone else sign and he also signed that picture above. We told him it's St. Louis' favorite picture too and he laughed. I was so thrilled that we got to meet both of them though! :D

Okay bye!
