Man, RIP the GitHub office 3.0. That space was my baby. I'm sad in 100 different ways, but mostly for the amazing security team who have been there for years now and still recognize me on the rare occasions that I visit.
- Man, so many memories of getting that office put together. One of the best is the Thinktocat by @tonytimetables. I hope this goes somewhere worthy, it was fucking amazing in every way.I loved putting this office together. It took so long, working with so many talented people. There were years of doubts afterward that we/I had made good decisions, but I feel it served @github well over the last decade. If nothing other than the long term lease I locked in. :)One of the most interesting choices was the Oval Office, a full scale replica we built as our lobby. They tore it out years later, but that was by far the most interesting lobby to wait in that has ever been built. Some more Oval Office shots. The rug was ridiculous to manufacture. Complete with a replica Resolute Desk that my kid could crawl through just like RFK.It's impossible to begin to remember all the ridiculousness that went on here. It was a magical and insane and wonderful time, building something so very special.
- I remember the repo you set up to solicit ideas. We immediately suggested a secret bookshelf door, which happened! Sadly the slide between floors never made the cut. 馃槀
