Biography
Hagino Kōsuke is a Japanese retired backstroke, freestyle and medley swimmer who won a gold medal in the men's 400m medley event in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Ōyama-shi, Tochigi-ken on 15 August 1994. He attended Toyo University. He was voted by Swimming World as the World Swimmer of the Year in 2014, one of only two Asian individuals at the time to be so.
Kōsuke was married to a singer-songwriter in 2019; he had at least one child before divorcing in 2024.
