If you are managing a lot of Dutch Cape Colony profiles but just don't have enough time to work on them and get them finished, or don't know where to start or find the proper sources for them, so if you really would like and could use some help sourcing and improving the ones you're managing:

    1. Click the Privacy tab on these profiles.
    2. In the Add to Trusted List section, enter: wikitree-cape-of-good-hope-project@googlegroups.com and click the Add this Person.
    3. Then when after having saved, tick the box Add as Manager to make the Dutch Cape Colony Project active manager.
    4. Save again.

This way we can help and try to get them all finished, the names or patronymics corrected and PPP't and of course maybe you would like to join the project as well? see: HERE :) If you would like to join the project need some help or have questions, just contact Susanna (Coetsee) de Bruyn or try our G2G (make sure to add the tag Dutch_Cape_Colony to the bottom before you enter your question).

Can you please add me to the trusted list of Hendrik Christiaan Graaff. {Graaff-79 ( 1788-1825 )} He & his spouse Johanna Elizabeth Botha had two additional siblings, one of whom married a Bezuidenhout who has a connection to my wife Cathrina's family tree. Thanks.

To the project managers:

Please connect Coenraad Hendrik Erasmus Visser as the son of Jasper Johannes Visser and Hilletje Aletta Johanna Smit. Sources for this request are on the profile of [Visser-5810|Coenraad Hendrik Erasmus Visser]. Regards Rita

At least 68 profiles are on the page for 18 Feb 2024 Challenge to remove incorrect reference tags. This was just for the years 1700 to 1799. I corrected one Linde-202, but I am not sure if I should continue. Can you provide additional information?

André Laubscher
Hi Patricia. I had a look at the changes you made to Linde-202 and decided to restore it to the prior version, as your changes went well beyond merely correcting an incorrect reference tag. As you may have seen, all the South African profiles between 1700-1799 form part of the COGH Project and we do have specific requirements in terms of names, the Bio etc.

I suggest don't go any further with the other profiles, but I'm happy to have a look at them if you can point me to the page for the 18 Feb Challenge.

Good Day,

I note the following duplications that I think need to be merged:

Grobbelaar-162 and Grobbelaar-647 Gildenhuijsen -19 and Geldenhuys-678

These two people were husband and wife

My ancestor Alberts-1991 seems to be related to Alberts-49. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRL9-LWM.

Please confirm this for me.

Hello, can someone help me please. I am dyslexic and have great difficulty following forms. My Great Grandfather was Jan Hendrik Delport b 24 10 1877 Grahamstown married 11 06 1963 in Pretoria to Hendrina Johanna Brits b 8 08 1888 in Heidelburg who died 31 05 1949 Pretoria. I am searching for the family branch of Hendrina Johanna Brits. I may be wrong but I think her mother could have been Dina Carolina Brits and her father, Christian Pieter Brits. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thank you very much for your help.

If someone logs in as the project account, they need to post a comment here letting us know who it was and when. Remember the project account should not be making edits unless absolutely necessary.
