Biography
Josiah Snow was born in 1694, the 5th and final son of Lt. Joseph Snow and his wife, Mary (Higgins) Snow. When his father wrote his Will in 1717, Josiah is mentioned.
On August 15, 1719, at the Eastham Congregational Church, Josiah Snow signified his Intention to contract marriage with Elisabeth [sic] Snow, "late of Harwich, now of Eastham".[1] Elizabeth Snow was born Oct. 25, 1693, in Eastham, to Thomas Snow and wife Helen (Sears) Snow.[2] She was Josiah's first cousin, once removed.
Josiah and Elizabeth Snow were married on October 20, 1719, in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. They had 3 children together born Eastham:[2][3]
- Elisabeth Snow b: 18 Jul 1721; mar. Benjamin Lumbert (int.) 24 Jan 1742/3 Eastham, son of Jedediah and Mary (White) Lumbert; 6 ch. born Truro.
- Josiah Snow b: 18 Sep 1723; poss, the one in 1790 Eastham, res. near sister Mary's household.
- Mary Snow b: 21 Nov 1725; mar. Scarlet Gills/Gill 13 Feb 1755 at Eastham.
Josiah and Elizabeth's last child, Mary Snow, was born at the end of 1725. No death date or Estate probate has been found for Josiah Snow. He died sometime after 1725, in Eastham, Massachusetts. No death date has been found for his wife, Elizabeth Snow, but it was also after November 21, 1725, in Eastham, Massachusetts, where they lived their lives.[4]
