John Shoemaker was born in 1735, in Henrico county, Virginia. On November 9, 1755, in St James Northam Parish, Goochland county, Virginia, John married Sarah Jerrat. [1] Note: Goochland County was created 1 February 1727 from Henrico County. Children of John and Sarah are:
- Randolph Shoemaker, born March 3, 1758, and christened June 25, 1785, in St James Northam Parish. [2]
- Sally Fox Shoemaker, born April 11, 1760 and christened November 9, 1761, in St James Northam Parish. [3]
- John Shoemaker, born December 13, 1761 and christened April 12, 1762, in St James Northam Parish [4]
- Tarlton Shoemaker, born December 17, 1763 and christened March 31, 1764, in St James Northam Parish. [5]
- Jeanie Shoemaker (1766-?)
- Judith Shoemaker (1768-?)
- Thomas Shoemaker, born December 7, 1769, and christened August 14, 1770, in St James Northam Parish, [6] died in 1835, in Pike County, Missouri

John Shoemaker, Jr. died circa 1820, in Iredell county, North Carolina. [8]
William was born in 1735. He passed away in 1820.
