Charles (19) married Winnie Champer (18) (born in 1901; daughter of Linne E Champer and Lottie (Mann) Corl) on June 30, 1920 in Carson City, Montcalm. Their son was Bruce Leonard Proctor (1923–2003).

Charles died on November 29, 1988 in Stanton, Montcalm, Michigan, aged 88.^[1]
