Biography
John Nesbitt was born about 1750. He owned six slaves in 1790. (There is also a John Maxwell Nesbitt living in Iredell County in 1790, who did not own any slaves.) John Nesbitt died in about 1792.[1]
In 1834 there were two persons, Dr. James K. Nesbit and John Nesbit who owned stores on the southeast corner of the town square in Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. Their relation to this John Nesbitt is not currently known.[2]
