Notes
The Howe Genealogies list an Asa Howe born to both this Isaac (1686-1764) and his son Isaac (1727-1758). Framingham Vital Records list Asa Howe, son of Isaac, baptized 29 Apr 1750, but it is not clear which Isaac is the father. There may or may not be two different Asa Howe's. From dates and ages, it appears that the Asa baptized in 1750 is the son of the younger Isaac and the one who married Mary Betty, even though the Howe Genealogies list Asa as that Isaac's brother. It is further confused in the Howe Genealogies by listing a marriage date for Asa and Mary Betty as 4 Nov 1763, but the Sudbury Vital Records list the marriage date as 4 Nov 1768, which appears much more likely, given the ages. The final problem is the the Howe Genealogies list the first two children of Asa and Mary as Catherine, born 27 Jan 1768 and Mehitable Howe, baptized 25 Sep 1768 and both occur earlier in the year that Asa and Mary married. The dates are impossible, and no vital records have been found to support either of these two births. Perhaps they are children of the "other Asa" if there is one. It needs much more investigation.
