Biography
- Her surname given in some records (e.g. Carmichael history) as Catharine Harzy, Harvey or Harry.[1]
- Pennsylvania German Society Proceedings, Vol. 21, Old Moravian Cemetery, Bethlehem: Catharine Volck, m.n. Herr, 1713-75, from New York State. At the age of 17 years she became the wife of Charles Volck, to whom she bore fourteen children. Soon after their marriage they moved to Lynn, Lehigh Co. PA. Count Zinzendorf visited them there several times, and when a Moravian congregation was organized at Lynn, the minister lodged at their house, until a parsonage was built. Her husband died in 1766, at Hebron PA.
- In 1754, she is listed as a member of the Allemangel Moravian parsonage:
- Volck, Catherine, m. n. Harvey, b. in Plymouth twp. Phila. co.[2]
Death
- 25 June 1775, buried at Moravian Cemetery, Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania[3]
