Biography

Nancy Garapick was a Canadian competitive swimmer and world record-holder who won two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m backstroke at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, aged 14. She broke the Olympic record in the 100m backstroke heats.

Nancy Ellen Garapick was born on September 24, 1961 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She died on April 6, 2026 in Langley, Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, aged 64.
