Jacob Freestone (1827 - 1911)

Biography

Jacob, son of Amos Freestone and Sarah Reeder, was born in Clarksville, Ohio on October 3, 1827.^[1] He was the youngest of eleven siblings. At some point before 1830 the family moved west to Indiana.^[2]

On July 23, 1849, Jacob married Patty Wildman on July 23, 1849 in Miami, Indiana.^[3] Over the years they had ten children together and for a time they raised their family in Miami County, Indiana.^[4][5]

During the Civil War, Jacob served in the Union Army. He was in the 138th Regiment, Indiana Infantry.^[6][7] After the Civil War, Jacob moved his family to Dunn County, Wisconsin.^[8][9] Soon, Jacob owned land there.^[10] Jacob and his family lived there for the rest of his life.^{[11][12][13][14]}

Jacob died (age 84) on December 22, 1911 and was buried in Lucas Cemetery of Hatchville, Wisconsin.^[15][16]
