Biography
Samuel and Martha had no children. They adopted their nephew and niece after the death of Martha's sister Hannah (Devotion) Huntington (1743-1771), who was the wife of Samuel's brother, Joseph Huntington (1735-1794). They raised Samuel H Huntington (1765-1817) and Frances (Huntington) Griffin (1769-1837) as their own. They also were guardians to Mason Fitch Cogswell (1760-1830).
