Sylvia Mae Cook was born about 3 September 1910 in Kansas, United States, daughter of Edward Cook (about 1887–about 1969) and Georgia May Getty (1888–1959).

In 1915, Sylvia (4) was living in Downs, Sumner with her parents, Ed (28) and Georgia (27). ^[1] In 1920, Sylvia (9) was living in Downs, Sumner with her parents, Ed (32) and Georgia M (31). ^[2] In 1930, Sylvia (19) was living at 6337 Santa Fe., Huntington Park with her parents, Edward (43) and Georgia M (42). ^[3]

Sylvia Mae Cook married Thomas R Bodamer on 14 June 1934 in Los Angeles, California, United States.^[4]

In 1950, Sylvia (39) was living in Compton, Los Angeles with her husband, Thomas R (40); and their children, Gerald (10), Sharon (4), and Thomas (2). ^[5]

Sylvia died on 20 May 1997 in Orange County, California, aged 86.^{[6] [7]}
